What else should we call a country where over 130 million people live in poverty, more than India and China combinedI truly do not understand it. Since when did the mere act of cramming random figures and brandishing them at every trivial opportunity become a criterion for measuring intelligence? Why does this man insist on reciting numbers that collapse under the slightest scrutiny? Even if one must memorise statistics to create the illusion of brilliance, is it too much to ask that he at least cross-check them from credible sources? Now he claims that over 130 million Nigerians are living in poverty and, according to him, this number somehow exceeds the combined population of poor people in India and China. One has to wonder whether someone placed a special curse on this man’s calculator. India, by all global assessments, remains one of the poorest countries in the world. Let us even be charitable and assume that only 30% of its population is poor, a figure far below reality. What is 30% of an estimated 1.2 billion Indians? A very elementary calculation yields roughly 400 million. How, in any universe, can 130 be greater than 400? And that is without even factoring in China, where it is laughable to assume that everyone is wealthy. So what exactly is he trying to accomplish with this compulsive habit of flinging obviously baseless statistics around? Truly, one can only sigh. Nawao. |

Richtaiwo:See what you are focusing on.. A real leader and an honest citizen have a pessimistic view of their country and that pessimism make them work hard to make it better.. We paint a picture of more bad visuals and maybe that will propell our leaders to do the right thing.. Every sane leaders should be pessimistic and not optimistic.. And pls bros let's focus on how to make the country better |

Peter Obi lacks patriotism. As a former state governor, he contributed to Nigeria's stagnation. He awaits foreigners' criticism to validate his own leadership failures. This remark is his political low point. His state (Anambra) fared no better under his rule. Obi should feel ashamed. True patriots don't use foreign insults against their nation. Unlike Peter Obi, leaders like Obasanjo (Baba Iyabo) exemplify true patriotism, defending Nigeria's honor, he even banned songs such as "Jagajaga" etc that undermine the nation. Most of Nigerian politicians, including Obi, criticize but offer no solutions. I'd prefer an empty Aso Rock (presidency) over his leadership. Peace! |

How to know a good leader. He blames leadership failures on leaders including himself. I'm yet to see where Obi says Nigerian past leaders failed the new generation and exonerated himself from the blames. Even while he was campaigning, he always said he didn't have all the solutions but he was sure he could set the country on the right path towards the possible solutions. |

You cannot ask the poor to fast while leaders feast. We must end the executive recklessness that drains public resources. We must build institutions, not personalities”, he noted. |

It is unpatriotic to demarket your country oga The funny thing about this man is this is how Buhari patronized us and called Jonathan all sorts of names, they even went abroad to tell their sad stories. They got power and dragged us back terribly. All of you are thieves, we need a new mindset to govern this country ----through a REVOLUTION. If you have been part of government since 1999 return to democracy, you should go sit down , you are part of the wolves destroying Nigeria |
