The people you call Bandits are one of the richest, well connected and sophisticated criminal networks in the world. It is not a news that they are mostly of Fulanii extraction and they are a decentralised group with tens of thousands of fighters all across Nigeria.

They are heavily armed and seriously rich and ideologically driven. They are not just another rag tag criminals that some people think, No! They have the capacity to take on the Nigerian security architecture and they have demonstrated this several times.

Many of this "Bandit" militias make up to 1 billion naira in a month should shows you the kind of financial warchest that they have in order to pay their fighters and buy sophisticated arms and ammunition.

How do Bandits make their billions every month:

1. The best Gold mines in Zamfara and Kaduna are controlled by Bandits. According to investigative sources, many Bandit leaders make 30 million a day from their respective gold mines in several places across those Gold mines.

2. Bandits not only control this gold mines, they now enslave inhabitants of captured villages and towns to work in those mines as slaves. This gives them cheap labour and unlimited manpower to maximize profits and make up as much to 50 million a day from each mine.

3. Bandits have access to arms market from Algeria, Sudan and other places to buy sophisticated and upto date weapons in order to take on the Nigerian army. This weapons are not cheap. According to Bandit leader, they buy a bowl of ammunition for as high as 1 million naira.

4. Many of these bandits now have the ability to send their boys to Dubai to sell this gold directly in UAE without any middle man in order to maximise profits.

5. Bandits are collecting taxes and levies ranging from 10 to 100 of millions from captured towns and villages in the North west and North Central of Nigeria. They control huge swathes of land and territories and impose taxes on the inhabitants which has provided another source of funding for their terrorist activities.

6. Bandits, Boko haram and ISIS also tax cattles in the Northwest of Nigeria. Let me use Mali for example, JNIM (Al Qaeda) makes nearly 1 million dollars a month taxing cattles alone in their captures territories. This is why stuffs like cattle rustling etc are a common occurrence in the core North because it is a billion naira monthly economy controlled by "Bandits".

7. Bandits just like their terrorist counterparts like ISIS, JNIM and Macina liberation front (A fulani dominated jihadist network) also use Kidnapping for ransom as a means of fund raising for their operations.
They mostly target European expats living in the core North or rich business men or women in order to get huge ransom that will bolster their financial warchest.

For example in Mali, JNIM made close to 50 million dollars in ransom of key Malian Politcal leaders and European expatiates for the past 5 years which has really empowered the organization to have the capacity to buy more weapons, pay fighters and slain families of their fighters and to get logistics for their operations.

This is why the kidnapping for ransom by Bandits of Fulanii extractions across Nigeria especially in Southern and Middle Belt states of Kwara and Kogi are part of the "IGR boosting" campaigns of this terrorists.

The money made is funneled back to run and expand the operations of this criminals. Every ransom paid is tool for the eventual destruction of Nigeria if care is not taken. The Nigerian people are impoverished and the so called Bandits of Fulanii extraction becomes more empowered and capable to take on conventional armies like the Nigerian armed forces.

Let's go deeper and juxtapose their mode of operation with the Tutsi led militia in Eastern Congo called M23. A single mine where "Coltan" is mined in North Kivu gives the M23 upto 1 million dollars a month!!! This is the same mode of operation happening in Northern Nigeria.

I believe he hand a hand in this, but was part of a wider secretive and powerful northern muslim elite (political, clerical and possibly entrepreneurial) plot to kick GEJ out in 2015! They couldn’t do it alone though, and needed a powerful figure from the south to align with….someone powerful, power hungry, and with a ready army of minions and acolytes to do the needful in the southern part of the country!
