They're not problematic as you think. What is the major problem is poor maintenance culture. I went to fix my Mercedes-Benz the other day and I saw the technician using a 5w30 for a Mercedes-Benz because he feels it's a full synthetic oil. Mercedes-Benz is a high temperature car and using the conventional Toyota oil on your Mercedes-Benz will make it lose its viscosity at a high temperature.

I've driven my turbo charged 4 cylinder 2014 C250 for over 2 years now and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Cylinder misfire is an engine issue coupled with turbo is not advisable. It's fuel related. Maybe Dangote fuel is still limited to Eleko. Mercedes was sent to Nigeria to suffer and die.

It's always advisable to use the appropriate recommended engine oil when servicing any car. Another challenge is getting the original cos too many fake ones in the market now.

This is one the few types I agree with you.. Benz no be poor man motor at all . If you see the amount of Benz engine that are been replacing coz of bad maintenance.. Benz dey suffer for naija people hand .......

The Esp Mobil 1 can not work for Mercedes cars. This oil was what Peugeot Kaduna recommended to replace Total for the 508 in 2012. It is a C3 oil which is OK for the Peugeot 508 and also ideal for 2014 Diesel Range Rover engine. Range Rover recommended C1 or C2 engine oil for their diesel engine but it does not exist till now. A US spec of Mobil 1 0w40 comes in SN, SP and not ACEA 1 or 3. The Esp Mobil 1 is from the Egyptian refinery of Mobil and they can never produce oil for US spec of Mercedes. Mercedes came to Nigeria to be destroyed by their proud owners with their money.

Baba try read small this is USA brand ESP formulated for Euro cars and meets euro cars specifications including Benz

Depending on the Benz they can use 5w30, 0w40, 5w40.....but it should meet Benz specifications

MB 229.31 229.51. 229.52 anything less you dey harm the engine

A customer just ordered for the Euro blend full synthetic... This will meet Benz specifications
OGA your aforementioned oils are for diesel engines and not pms (gas). You see these are the issues but most people will be blaming Mercedes-Benz 4 cylinder engines.


I understand you want to sell your market but sell and recommend the appropriate oil to your customers.

If you look at the red part that was highlighted.. It meets all European specifications.........

People need to read and do more research.,.. this is why I dey fear to buy naija used cars

Pls don't derail the topic. The oil you posted is 229.51 and 229.52 despite it being 5W30. That oil is for diesel engines. Stop destroying people's car because you want to sell.

The oil I posted is the Euro formula that meets European cars specifications including the BENZ that you mentioned on your post.

You started on that post that you saw a mechanic using 5w30 full synthetic and u stated that it was the wrong oil....stop misleading people because you sell Mobil 1 5w30. Your oil might be original but it's not meant for newer Mercedes benz from 2003 models . Accept and learn please. It takes nothing

I posted to you that 5w30 is ok for Benz as long it meets the Benz specifications. What I posted is a European formula 5w30 for European cars....


You than stated that what I posted was for diesel cars only, which is very wrong.... This formula is for both petrol cars and diesel.. it is a versatile formula..

Learn to take corrections and admit your mistakes... This is why I dey fear naija mechanics....

I will not engage with you again on this topic again . Alot of people on this car section follow out of emotions which is very bad.....

Google is your friend and at your finger tips.......people that are supposed to correct you on the section are not during either due to lack of knowledge or because of gang mentality

MB 229.51 and 229.52 is clearly stated that it is mainly designed for diesel engines.

I have told him that the oil will not work well for the US spec Mercedes. He said na lie. Even Toyota will never recommend that Mobil ESP oil for any of its cars requiring 5w30. It is not gasoline engine oil only. That's why the starburst logo is not found on the ESP but it is found on the Mobil 1 Extended performance. He is selling his oil based on his old ways of telling people to use Mobil 1 for Kia Rio and the engines started smoking and died subitement.
