The Nigerian army is overstretched by the war in the Northeast. The bandits and militia herdsmen will just strain it more.

To fight a war is very costly. A high ranking soldier said the army needs at least 500,000 soldiers in the Northeast to contain the terrorists active there.

The government needs to be more creative in combating these menace.
