Have you ever asked yourself why Black Americans succeed no matter which country they go to but not in their own country? If Nigeria turns to Paradise, some people will still japa. Most of the Nigerians that japa, claimed they do it because the society is dysfunctional. What most of them do not admit is that there is no dignity for a Black man no matter where they japa to.

Talking about a dysfunctional society, Africans are yet to confess to one another that outside Africa, all the places they glorify are dysfunctional for a Black man no matter how rich you are. Ask General Powell and President Obama, the two most prominent Americans about their encounters on the streets with police.

Hearing gun shots at night, police siren and ambulances are world poor communities common denominator. Yet, some of them would not leave their community for better areas. Life expectancy in the rural areas with poor whites and in the ghettos with poor Blacks are no different from those in the third world countries. Canadians japa to America to make money until they find out that there is more to life than money.

True but that is where the similarity ends. Different evil forces hold both down in Nigeria and America.

White racism hold Blacks down in America which they shake off outside America and always succeed. In Nigeria, it is the retired generals that suck every drop of blood out of the natural resources. They make more money than the Government.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'Black American,' but it's not true that Nigerians only succeed when they're outside their country. The richest Black person in the world is Nigerian, and he didn't inherit his wealth; he made it in Nigeria.

Lots of Nigerians have found success in their fields while still living in Nigeria.

In fact, most people who've found success in Nigeria generally don't move away; it's the ones who are struggling who see migrating as a do-or-die situation.

You've got Linda Ikeji, Seun from Nairaland, and the founders of the new fintech companies—they stayed in Nigeria and made it big.

And not everyone who goes abroad ends up successful, you know.

So, what is your point? Africans and black Americans are two different sets of people...

Generally, I agree with you. The post is not denying the success of some Nigerians in Nigeria or some success of Blacks in America. Of course there are successfully Nigerians in Nigeria, though Structural Adjustment has wiped out middle class.

In America,Blacks succeed against all odds. Indeed, it is easier for American Blacks to succeed outside America including in Nigeria than it is for Nigerians. Why do you think foreigners say Nigeria is a good place to make money?
