An alleged incident at *Starville School in Jahi, Abuja🙆🏼♂️* .A teacher claimed he slapped a student for reportedly pushing him twice. Later, during a meeting with the principal and the parents, the situation escalated when the parents began slapp!ng the teacher back too 😭💔. Video cannot be uploaded because it is heavy. Peoples Comments : • That's what poverty has reduced the teaching profession to. *The uncouth and untrained child becomes more arrogant in class; at the effrontery of rudely pushing the teacher again in the nearest future.* • So terribly pathetic and the ministry of education will see this and will not doing anything about it What are your views ??

Private school teachers are indeed suffering in this country. The way the proprietors treat them is sometimes worse than slavery |

There's a private school in Ikorodu side where the proprietor always frowns whenever teachers want to go home after school closes by 5pm. If he wants to call a meeting, the meeting won't start until after 5pm and will last nothing less than 2 hours. It's really a curse to be poor in this country. |

The parents are wrong and I hope the ministry of education... Or the school authourity does something about the matter. They should be prosecuted for assault on the teacher. However, how come the teacher couldn't even defend himself against their slaps. Oh okay, he can only retaliate against unruly defenseless little brats and not the bigger older brats who are his parents! |

That exactly what Wike taught them. We haven't seen anything yet. By the time that country clocks another 10 years, people would look back only to weep. Character builds a nation. |

I believe the teacher didn't respond as he feared what the school might do to him afterwards. It's so unfortunate brain54: |

I seriously think apart from NAPPS, there should be a union guiding private schools teachers and even private sectors employees (hotels, companies) because the insult and disgrace can diminish one’s self esteem. I’m very sure nothing will be done and the man will get only apologies. If he still loves the remainder of his self esteem, he should quit the job now or next time he might be arrested for cautioning a student. |

It was later reported that the school has expelled the student and banned the parents from visiting the school. The teacher was also sanctioned with a week salary. SpencerForbes: |

I can bypass the man that slapped him but you see the wife that slapped him was where I was uncomfortable, how will you a woman, wife and mother slap your son school teacher just because he was disciplined for wrongdoing, omo that teacher won't forget the experience in a long run..... This is how parents build bully's as children when they themselves are bullies too.... |

brain54:The teacher couldn't defend himself, I guess he knows where he came from.. and the best thing to do was to just allow the assault, there's hunger in the land... He must have thought of.. if I lose this job, what will my wife and kids be eating.. don't blame him.. |
| Re: Parents Slap Teacher In Abuja Private School (Photos) by brain54(m): 4:09pm On Nov 16, 2025 |
sureway1:Well, his actions are inconsistent... He should have thought his actions through to the end. And if the parents decide to hit him he shouldn't stand there like a coward unable to defend himself. He was even shaking like a leaf while explaining his reason for slapping the kid. You can't be a brave hero when dealing with a minor and suddenly start shaking when a bigger bully comes along. All of them are bullies by the way... from the kid, teacher and parents. Just the biggest bully got his way! |

Same thing happened to my ex at the school she works just about 2 weeks ago. A parent slapped her and promised to deal ruthlessly with her because she disciplined her son, just a week later (last Sunday) my ex died. I am still in shock till date |

pdppower:Hmmmm..... Most of those teachers too are worse than the devil. I think they are frustrated because of the meagre pay They act any how towards students whose parents don't grease their palms. |

Useless parents! Your child pushed a teacher twice and got slapped for it, and you still had the effrontery to come fight the teacher. The teacher taught your child what you failed to teach him at home! Back in those days, if you did tried that with a teacher, you are finished! Your parents will add more to the existing beating you have got. Shout out to all those parents. They don’t pamper kids into foolishness and stupidity. If you disrespect anybody, whether known or unknown, they will deal with you accordingly. |

The school should supper their staff. That parent must be sued to court by the school. They should rally round the teacher. The best way to approach the matter by the parent that is to report the matter to the school for appropriate investigation and action. If dem no come belleful then it can be taken to human rights, NSCDC or NPF.

Most Nigerians are oppressors. They just wait for the opportunity and the victim. It's in our DNA. Hope the teacher gets justice I know the school won't do anything, they would not want to loose a customer |
