Chai Eric Chelle, your first loss happened to be on the most important game for the team so far. So painful cry. Still, he should be the one th take the Eagles to AFCON. By tomorrow we will know exactly what happened in the locker room during halftime. Something happened there that led to Osihmen's removal and total disharmony in the team. They should have put their differences aside and worked as a team towards the common goal. A whole 10 slots was up for grabs for Africa and Nigeria couldn't get one, so painful😭
How will we know
Chelle did not lose the match
Losses due to penalty shoot out are counted as draws

Even though the Nigerian in me wanted the super eagles at the world cup....somehow I am happy and relief that they didnt cos if they had qualified APC and this Administration will say they are doing a good job and when was the last time we qualified. Because no good thing can come out of this APC.

Why were fans throwing water bottles on the pitch during penalty kicks that also played factor in distraction

What a shame.

Idiotic idiots y'all.

This is just so painful.

All the players and the coaching crew and the NFF board should all be sacked and we start all over again.

We couldn't qualify for Under 17, Under 20 and Senior World cup?!
Haba!!

Bunch of disgrace.[/quote]What do u expect from a disgraced country? Very shameful to see a tiny country like cape vede with a population of just 590,000 qualifying easily ahead of nigeria with a very huge population of around 230m people.

Exactly my point they wont use the world cup qualification to score cheap political points in the coming election. Very useless party ...since thier emergence is been one suffering or the other for the citizenry .

Something i dont understand, why victor osimhen did not played 2nd half because i noticed something, he had issues with his mates and no be this kind game he go just decided not to play full time. He's presence alone is fair for Congo players. Make anybody no talk sey he get injury. The guy get anger issue and he no fit manage am..... see where it leads us to. The first half is better than 2nd half. If I could findout what happened between osimhen and his team mates also NFF. If the blame is on osimhen he has bleeped up big time no be this kind game u go dey follow ur guys fight.

If U have to go thru playoffs to be in the world cup, U actully never deserved to be in the world cup. Nigeria doesn't deserve to be in the world cup. U had 10 matches, U didnt take serious, U didnt utilize to qualify....

The team is not that bad but few technical issues i didnt get from the coach. If you noticed he messed the qualification up because he had built the team around Osimehn, we were here because of the injury of Osimehn at the qualifying stage.

Guys this is painful, the coach and his technical team could not look for other better striker in the world to fix this issue, they relax to put us in this situation, a good coach should be going around building his team, the whole flopp came when Osimehn was substituted in this game.

I dont get the rational behind that replacementof our only striker. Was he injured?, was he sick, which yellow card is he keeping. Truth be told, you dont remove a player who is putting a great fear to the opponent, he might not score at that point but his presence on the pitch command respect.

Although the coach may not do any wrong building the team around Osimehn it happens in football, Cameroon did it before they build their team around Eto in those days, roger miller, they won so many trophies, even Didier Drogba was a player cote dvoire built their team on until his tenure finished they picked again and gather strong players.
We did well in the last games and against Gabon because the team had Osimehn but his sudden substitution became an issue. Thats football , the question will ever remain in the heart of Nigerians, why removing Osimehn, why sudden change he could have managed him a bit and brought Adam to play with Osimehn we just might have won but if we won can we keep the momentum in March 2026 After the nations Cup? Probably better we bow out now than next year because if Osimehn was not around due to tiredness from serving an important club and country..it may get worst at that time. Nigerians my country i will always support you no matter the floppy situation we shall rise again. We go prepare for nations Cup. The boys are good kudos to Beneeejeeeeee and Nwabali these two guys are my best player for this game.

Nigeria has no reason whatsoever not to be in the world cup with it's very rich football's history but corruption and very poor administration finished nigeria.

Firstly I slightly blame Osimhen for this loss.. grin

Ok let me explain
1. If Osimhen had scored that last minute regulation time chance we wouldn't have played those useless extra 30 mins, our boys were jaded and DRC didn't play extra time ..the fatigue factor was at work here

2. Why the flying freak would important matches be scheduled with just 2 rest days in between... We have Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday all part of the international window... yet Caf decided after Thursday, the next match should be Sunday!! That's callous and I sure Morocco put it on Sunday so that fans can show..

3. As usual just like the last AFCON...we have no playmaker/attacking midfielder apart from Iwobi...apart from the fact that in the 2nd half our midfield disappeared, there was literally no one on the bench that could actually advance the ball up the field amongst the midfielders...the only possible person was Abdullahi and he wasn't trusted ( Onyedika is a DM)

Well I just hope we are able to unearth more attacking midfielders before the next AFCON..so far it's only Akinsanmiro I know is close but even he to me is a CM not an AM..

Because if Iwobi gets injured, omo forget it we will be very boring to watch...

The coach failed, he removed ademola, osimhen and chukwueze in the second half. These guys would have ended the match @ fulltime.

The football team is a total reflection of the Nigerian System. Averages bunch of players forming prime Ronaldo when in reality there are on same level with Kano pillar players.

They had no reason not to qualify from the group stage not to talk of via playoff. Instead of them to focus on qualifying, they were fighting for stupid bonuses as if they were hungry players. Irredeemable players.

You are right we used to go when africa only have 5 slots, how cone Africa has 9 and we did not make it. I dont really see any African country actually going far in the WC anyway, we neever did, i dont see what is different now...nigeria has always been a finished country for a while now that is why i laugh at people saying it will be better. Even if it will be, its not going to be in your lifetime because progress requires stages, if you are not in any of those staves, you cant jump to the end of the line and say you are a progressed or progressing nation..

Very sad day for Nigerian football ⚽.....

It hurts so much that Nigeria won't be going to a second consecutive WC. Very sad indeed.

The lethargic lukewarm attitude of the players ruined them as they playing against a highly motivated DRC.

It was in the news that the congo boys were promised 1 million dollars each for qualifying for the intercontinental playoffs.

I don't know how true this is, but it's a very big motivation.
$1m each keh?

In as much as I wanted us to qualify, let's been plain... We played rubbish and we need to overhaul the whole team. What's iwobi still doing in the SE?

Secondly, those saying we should source local talent. Isn't it the same local talent that fumbled in the just concluded WAFU?

we just need a good replacement player for every wing. Those who are ready to spill blood for the National team
