Omoyele Sowore Explains Why He’s Standing Up for Regina Daniels Amid Marital Crisis

Human rights activist and politician, Omoyele Sowore, has explained why he has taken a firm stand in defending Nollywood star Regina Daniels in the midst of her ongoing marital crisis with her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

Sowore became publicly involved after the controversial arrest of Regina’s brother, Sammy Daniels, who was later released. According to him, the incident exposed deeper issues allegedly orchestrated by Nwoko against the actress and her family.

Speaking on the matter, Sowore claimed that the billionaire lawmaker had planned further actions that targeted Regina’s loved ones. He alleged that Nwoko attempted to orchestrate the arrest of Regina’s mother and had intercepted private phone conversations, supposedly to weaponize the information against her. He further asserted that Nwoko intended to make certain private details and past issues public in an effort to discredit her.

Justifying his involvement, Sowore stated that his activism is guided strictly by principles of human rights and justice:

“I fight for human rights regardless of whether you support me or not. Your support or love for me is not a condition for me to create a society that is fair. I hate it when people use their power to punish people because they think they can get away with it.”

He stressed that his intervention has nothing to do with popularity or personal alignment, but with preventing the abuse of power and ensuring that individuals—regardless of status—are protected from unjust treatment.

The allegations immediately stirred reactions across social media. While some Nigerians commended Sowore for his consistency in defending vulnerable individuals, others expressed disbelief at the claims leveled against Nwoko, urging authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly.

Sowore, however, insists that justice for Regina Daniels and her family remains a priority, vowing not to back down until the alleged abuses of power are addressed and accountability is enforced.

Good one Mr Sowore. I can see your passion of principle in this matter. Regina Daniels married greed from her mother. She was to young for such kind of marriage with a grandfather who had lived out the fantasies she wanted to explore. A young woman in a polygamy with a man who supplies means and not romance with younger lovebird. Such a relationship carries with the glamour equivalent emotional torture that led RD into drugs. She has been in a prison of fame and marriage with a strange bed fellow in a fierce matrimonial rivalry.
