The present problem with the PDP lies squarely with the ill-thought-out SC judgement where it abdicated the powers of the courts from interfering in the internal affairs of political parties.

What is happening in the PDP would gradually creep into the other political parties as time goes by.

The political parties would simply revert to the ancient and discarded primitive practice of "might is right".

Since there's no more room or avenue to seek redress or remedy, brute force rather legal and rational resolution would become the order of the day.

How the PDP is able to wriggle itself out of the present political quagmire would be a case study of note.

Come to think of it, the Wike, Makinde and the Lamido factions disobeyed the SC ruling barring courts from interfering in the internal affairs of political parties by entertaining their suits in the first place.

We are definitely in exciting times.

He has already armtwisted all 36 state governors to decamp to his party, what is he still afraid of? Is there something he knows about that the rest of you are not seeing?

If opposition doesn't have sense, how is that Tinubu fault. PDP problem started when Wike lost primary to Atiku

They went to Omotosho to say PDP didn't give 21 days notice of meeting. Now they announced theirs 24 hours before.

Will they submit it to INEC? I also understand they are going to the Federal High Court today to get an ex-parte to compel INEC to affirm recognition of their meeting.

They intend to expel Makinde, Bala Mohammed, Bode George, Wabara and those they feel were the arrowheads at Ibadan. It's all too late, my dearies.

They didn't see the expulsion coming, I didn't either

He should wait for the other party to play theirs.....it's a game of turn by turn... playing all ur key move too early in a chess games is a novice approach....

wike is not destabilising PDP because he wants to move to APC. Sometimes i get tired of doing back and forths on social media because most of you are shallow and ignorant. Wike is trying to position himself as the head huncho of PDP so that in the future he can negotiate with the PDP as a powerhouse and there is never been a better time than now when he has institutions backing him. Same thing Tinubu did with ACN, same reason seyi makinde appointed his ally Arapaja as National secretary. Its all about influence and control in the future, APC is already saturated , PDP is a time tested party and they will always play a role in our polity and wike being a smart polittician is planning for the future. I hope you learnt something.

They will not learn. They can't envisage the future because they have allowed their hatred and emotions to becloud their sense of reasoning and since it's Wike they will do Al it takes to discredit him.

Nevertheless, these opportunities present themselves in different ways and Wike will always be available to make good use of them as best as he can.

There's only one problem though.......many should seek God through Christ Jesus truthfully not to be put to shame and brought to dishonour when they believe that all they have planned out for is in their grasp....

Darkness may seem like it's on the rise and seated but Light will over turn it all.

PDP faction led by wike is just wasting their time. Court does not determine Party matters. even if INEC didnt come for the Ibadan Convention, The fact that INEC was invited and they choose not to come INEC is on its own. The final verdict is the appeal court which will favour Seyi Makinde and others. Make Wike go buy Judge this time around he is Gone for ever

The Courts didn't stop the Convention.
Omotosho's judgement was against INEC. That they shouldn't monitor until PDP does xyz. How is that halting a National Convention?

Lifu's Judgement was that INEC shouldn't honour the Convention until forms be sold to Lamido..... Does a Court have the powers to stop a National Convention already acknowledged by INEC?

I guess he has done a lot for the party hence he continue to hold them at the neck with no fear.

If they dont expel him, the PDP will continue to decay till its graveyard. Their PDP youth seems ready to restructure the party from the scratch with leaders of likeminds.

Contrary to this, his Party put him on the ballot and INEC removed him for the fact that the Primary that birthed his emergence was not monitored by them.

What was the Supreme Court's position?
It is the Party who informs INEC of the Primary and INEC has nothing to do but go there to observe. If INEC is informed by the National leadership of the Party and they choose not to go, it is not on the Party.

In this case, INEC admitted in their affidavit that they had been notified, so INEC may not be wrong for not going there because they have a Court order but does that now invalidate what happened in Ibadan?

Pray tell me one section of the Electoral Act that mandates INEC to be present in the National Convention, Conference, Congress or meeting of a Political Party? (See Section 82(1-5)).

It is in Primaries election that INEC is MANDATED to be present.
(See Section 84).

When Julius Abure bulldozed his way to a National Convention I(without INEC acknowledging or attending) and reinstated himself as National Chairman, did the matter not get to the Supreme Court?
What did the Supreme Court say?
Who is in INEC's register as National Chairman of LP as at today?
