So it's igbos who were the main characters in Nollywood.
yes, that time before youtube n cinema...they were the gatekeeper. Few yorubas were able to gatecrash like olu n joke Jacobs, antar laniyan, jide kosoko, Desmond elliot et al

Thanks to cinemas n streaming channels, nobody group can block others again

Gentle Jack was paid NGN100,000 for his role in the movie 'Vuga' (Year 2000)
100k then is equal to 150 millions naira now,
That is a a very huge money back then, most salary was between 18k to 25k then, and naira has huge purchasing power then.

Segun Arinze’s actual name was Segun Aina, not Arinze. He later changed his surname to Arinze. He chose the name to reflect his mixed Yoruba and Igbo heritage — his father is from Badagry, Lagos State (Yoruba), and his mother is from Onitsha, Anambra State (Igbo).
He should have changed his first name to igbo and not his last name arinze is purely igbo nothing yoruba in it.

Nobody blocked yorubas oh.
How can yorubas be blocked in Yoruba land?

It's simple Igbos are trend setters and on a level playing field the best 😁

Tribal game was in the Nollywood in the 90s...now the igbo they are far behind cos the barrier is broken with streaming platforms and emergence of yoruba producers

What trend?

Google Hubert Ogunde

Making movies used to be dictated by marketers and producers

Now we have more yoruba producers and enough streaming platforms. It's no longer padi padi..Shaft has been separated from the wheat

You don't need to remove Olusola from your name and answer chinedu to get a role
