Terrorists Storm Eruku Town In Kwara State As Residents, Travellers Flee by iwaeda(op): 8:10pm On Nov 18, 2025
The assault triggered panic, leaving vehicles abandoned on the road as people scrambled for cover.

Tension erupted on Tuesday evening in Eruku, a community in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, after heavily armed terrorists launched a coordinated attack, forcing travellers and residents to flee into surrounding bushes for safety.

Sources told SaharaReporters that the attackers stormed the township through one of the major entry routes, firing sporadically as they advanced.

The assault triggered panic, leaving vehicles abandoned on the road as people scrambled for cover.

Eyewitnesses reported sustained gunfire ringing across parts of the community as the terrorists moved deeper into the town.

A traveller who escaped the scene recorded a frantic video while hiding in the bush. In the shaky video, he repeatedly pleaded for security intervention as gunshots echoed in the background.

“This is 18-11-2025. On my way coming back from the Federal Poly, Bida, Niger State, we were coming through Ilorin road when they started shooting. Everybody has scattered into the bush,” the panicked traveller said.

Please, come to our rescue. We are in trouble. They are shooting everywhere. People have abandoned their vehicles. The community is in chaos. Please help us.”

Residents said the attackers overwhelmed the area, causing widespread fear and confusion.

As of the time of filing this report, details of casualties or arrests remain unclear, and authorities have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.

Eruku and adjoining communities have experienced repeated bandit and terrorist incursions in recent years, heightening concerns over worsening insecurity along the Kwara–Kogi–Ekiti axis.

This latest attack has once again raised alarm about the increasing boldness of armed groups operating across Nigeria’s North-Central region.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that gunmen suspected to be terrorists had abducted a timber supplier and one of his workers in Okoloke, a community in Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State, plunging residents into renewed fear as kidnapping cases continue to rise in the area.

SaharaReporters learnt that the victims were seized while carrying out their work on a farm in the area.

The attackers reportedly stormed the site unexpectedly, shooting sporadically and forcing the workers to flee in different directions.

One of the labourers, who narrowly fled the scene, confirmed the incident and told community members that the kidnappers overpowered the timber supplier and one of his staff before whisking them away into the forest.

Communities in Yagba East and Yagba West LGAs — particularly those sharing borders with Kwara State — have been experiencing a disturbing rise in armed attacks, kidnappings and other violent crimes in recent months.

Unfortunately, the residents are on their own, they'll either move to IDP camps or wait forever, those in Maiduguri have long forgotten what good night sleep in one's home is.

this recurring tragedy underscores a critical need for a paradigm shift in our security strategy. We must move beyond reactive measures and build a proactive, technology driven defense system.

This is where the Need for a Drone Command Center comes in

The vast and rugged terrain of Northern Nigeria makes traditional ground patrols insufficient. A Drone Command Center (DCC) is not a luxury it is a necessity for the following reasons
Force Multiplication a single drone unit can monitor an area that would require hundreds of troops on the ground, providing real time intelligence over impossible distances.

Persistent Surveillance Drones can loiter for hours, tracking bandit movements, identifying hideouts, and monitoring the abducted girls without risking human lives.

Actionable Intelligence They provide clear video and thermal imagery, allowing command centers to see exactly what the security forces are dealing with number of hostages, number of kidnappers, Weapon type andterrain layout before any rescue operation is launched.

we must cancel the wasteful spending on outdated strategies. It's time to re allocate resources, to defund the methods that don't work and invest in technology that does.

The blueprint for a safer Nigeria is ready. Reach out to me via my bio to engage, collaborate, and demand this change.

The game changer is clear Strategic Deployment of Drone Technology
Imagine a Nigeria where our security forces can See threats from miles away, across vast terrains.

But honestly, there has been a disturbing rise in these accidents recently since trump's announcements and it gets me worried there is more than meets the eye. All of a sudden we are getting more attacks daily with impunity and the media is running riot with it.

Is there something else we are not understanding here?

Middle belt? Where are your sharp shooters who championed the civil war against Biafra? Your " warriors " who fought gallantly with the support of major world powers against basically unarmed biafrans, a people whose only crime was that they wanted to be on there on?
Where are your political giants who claimed oneness with these same people that have now taken pleasure in killing your people? Are some of them even now rolling in their graves in shame and regret?

Remember, in Nigeria, the only people (outside of law enforcement) with automatic assault rifles are those willing to break the law... and there are hundreds of thousands of those weapons in circulation.

they seem to be cutting off the north and most especially the FCT. Kwara, kogi, Nassarawa, southern Kaduna, Plateau, benue and Niger states are all bordering the FCT. It's looking like a plan to destabilize states around the capital, but what do I know?
