Seun:I salute boss! Rather than the bot you created hunting for keywords and delete such post that contain those keywords, won’t it be better to modify it to delete a post that occurs more than once on a single page? Having to post one thing over and over again is kinda somehow |

SRNE looks decent nowadays, don't know that they have an all-in-one that meets the requirements, but here's a start; hxxpps://www.srnesolar.com/productdetail/Solar-Storage-System-EOP.html hxxps://www.srnesolar.com/productdetail/82.html Seun: |

My Sako inverter has been displaying two error codes today. Error 51 (overcurrent or surge) Error 58 (Output voltage is too low) The persistent one is error 58, nothing is coming on. I've disconnected all inputs and outputs, as well as the battery. It's still the same thing. What could possibly be wrong? |

Its been quite a while since I've come on this thread, but a certain video jumped into my feed and I couldn't help but smile that my Solar community would love this soon to be roforofo fight between two well known "solar influencers" ![]() I am only going to post one of their videos on this thread seeing as it summarises what the whole fight is about and if people have really been paying attention to the free interactive university that is this thread, you will see who is erring ( more than the other party) and repeating it with gusto....... Experienced gurus, please lie back and let the newbies take a shot at finding what is glaringly wrong before adding your own tuppence oooooo... abeg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQFJV3Rw25I?si=W7y8T5CYGjeFxzv0 |

FEGEITOK: Lol, can you imagine. A Solar "guru" with over 23k subscribers uploaded a video at 1am and before 5am he has rushed to take it down after standing on principle that what was witnessed was impossible....lol lol. dollarnaira: Chief to put some context I have posted the link for the original video he reacted too. Apparently DIY with Ray had long ago (over 2 months now) posted a video of a capacity test for a 10kwh (51.2v 200ah, 10.23kwh) lvtopsun battery where he got pretty impressive results of 10.53kwh discharging over 206ah in roughly over 2hrs. Smilinsun Solar Energies claimed that people had inundated him with requests asking if he recommends the battery and if that capacity test was possible. He basically tore into Ray, claiming the test was too suspicious and the results absolutely impossible, without him doing unhealthy things like bypassing the BMS and pretty much faking it. His argument was centered around DOD. He claimed you are not suppose to discharge a LIFEPO battery to more than 90% DOD and even went ahead posting another video with LVTOPSUN representatives in Nigeria where they also said their battery won't do more than 90% DOD and they guaranteed 6000 cycles. Now you may ask, that all this seems sound so far..... well it is. But then with all the English he speaks and wonderful carriage he has (compared to Ray oo, at least from the outside), he now came in with his claim that 90% DOD on a 10kwh battery cannot be more than 9kwh!! He claimed that since LVTOPSUN stated the battery was a 10.23kwh battery, there should be no way it could be discharged healthily to 10.5kwh. He repeated this over and over again insisting the BMS should have shut it down and no 10kwh battery can do 9kwh (awon Felicity brainwashed people), all this on the DC side ooo. At the end of the video he claimed he'd rerun his capacity test on the battery, making sure he buys a retail unit in case LVTOPSUN had fixed it themselves. Now, my shock was that this man with over 300 videos and 23k subscribers coud make such an elementary mistake when calculating DOD....as even in the days of lead acid, you cannot calculate DOD based on the metric he used. Basically DOD (with all the chemistries I am aware of) should be calculated with VOLTAGE and not based on POWER, let alone amperage. Most agree that 90% DOD on a lithium cell hits @ 3v a cell (12v for 12v batt, 48v for 48v batt) and practically every BMS will cut off way before 2.65v a cell. So LVTOPSUN did not mislead nor lie with their claim. If he understood this, he would have focused on other things he could have used to justifiably question Ray's results in my opinion, like how the battery got such great results being discharged in only 2hrs at such a high C rate (though Damreey has just done something similar above from what I can see) and if LVTOPSUN sent Ray an overspeced battery knowing he'd do a capacity test. Anyway, this is why I laud this thread, it's contributors and community as a whole for being a reservoir of great knowledge (both practical and theory), as even though one can be away for months or years, the discussions we've had here ( usually from proper life experiences) would have enriched you with so much knowledge that it honestly feels like you have earned a proper degree in this area. Enjoy Ray's short, and I actually like the guy a lot as he's pretty practical and just goes straight to the point. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMH3GJGwgND35-jYGN4/ |

Seun:Mr Seun of nairaland....... 🙌🙌🙌. Hope u get to also see our member's complaints abt the bot here and save this page. About ur question, its better and advisable u get seperate systems ie inverter and battery than going for an all in one. Ease of expansion is key here |

Seun:Oga Seun, don't feel like you are being ignored on this thread, but to be honest with the size of battery you are getting, people on her will only recommend getting a full all-round system rather than an all in one, as we tend to encourage flexibility and discourage being locked in (think Iphone vs Android debate). |

AndroBlaze:I don’t have to watch the video to know. He’s had it coming. I’ve never seen such arrogant quackery in the Solar world. Smilinsun is a cowboy a quack, I’ve said it long time ago. The annoying thing about him is there is nothing worse than someone with half knowledge who refuses to learn or be corrected and Carries on as if he knows it all. Worse still is he insults or questions anyone who questions him or if he cannot explain a situation because of his limited understanding or knowledge he attacks the installer or the product. I only pity those who patronize him or watch his videos. I said it long time ago: casualobserver: |

Hi All, Pls asking this question for a friend who is about to carry out a solar inverter project and got a “family and friend” quote of 1.4million naira for a 4kva system on 2 batteries. Pls is this amount realistic? |

AndroBlaze:Lol apologies. I studied Economics as well, though I had a science background. That was a faulty submission on my part. What I was trying to say but did not express properly with my unwarranted assault on those who studied arts was that he clearly doesn’t understand some fundamental principles of physics and did not take time to learn. There was a video where he displayed a fundamental lack of understanding of how a battery gets charged I.e what causes current to flow and the voltage of a battery to rise which led me to conclude he probably never studied/understood basic physics. I’d you don’t know why current flows, He will misdiagnose the problem, blame the installer and condemn perfectly good equipment advise his client to buy equipment he does not need which is what happened in the said video. |
