This is not so very unpopular a opinion, as you might think.

As with art, the way we perceive is very very subjective, calling a peice of media, the best ever places an unbelievable weight of expectations on it, expectations that might not be met when you see it, because you just don't vibe with the reasons why majority of the populace is calling it the GOAT.


Frankly speaking, Breaking Bad isn't an exciting show, it's not spontaneous, infact consists of very few fleeting moments, that will make you go "wow", even myself, i can't even lie, i almost abandoned it after S1, but as as whole the story was so grounded at the time, slow character development but a very good one, infact Walter White's character development is one of the very best in Tv serial history. Mind you this show aired at a time when the "morality of the world" was still intact, so to see Walter White cross from being a chemistry teacher, to a full blown head of a cartel, was a huge draw, crossed so many moral grey areas that looked taboo at the time, and critics thought that was a very bold writing.

In contrast, A show like GOT will always rank higher in terms of pop culture and being most people favourite of all time (despite that dodgy ending). It was everything Breaking Bad was and more... exciting... spontaneous... audacious...like Ned Stark was like a larger than life figure at S1E1, chopping the head of deserters, and people who weren't familiar with the lore, would think, yeah, this guy was totally going to be the King of the Seven kingdoms", and by S1E9, his head was off 😭, from a well concocted scheme. I once had a friend spend his leave at my house, and i gave him the first 6 seasons of GOT, and he was locked in for the next 3 days or so, only breaking for food, and bathroom breaks....i am sorry, Breaking Bad doesn't have this pull.

Plus, i did a little research sometime ago, there is a certain thrill and excitement that comes from seeing shows that drops one episode per week, compared to binge and dumped method we are so used to today, the latter increased the enjoyment of shows from yester years, more than they normally were and so binging those shows today, might not provide the same excitement.

My preference for shows is always one episode/week, there is enough time for it to marinate, discuss, see different view point, I dislike bingeing shows, it almost looses value as it is consumed in one sitting.

Same here..... It's only for very rare shows I might binge watch in a sitting. Which spells the GOAThood of such show or universe. But the modus operandi remains a preference for weekly format.

That said, there are still shows that I rate highly that everything drop once.

The Fall of the House of Usher comes to mind. It was so epic.

Probably... to the extent that I was actually happy when Saul said David should marry her instead

The series is really different from the past ones and this one is giving GOT and Vikings vibe same time and the nude scenes is there, the gods are there and the characters are all great.

House of David season 2 is a solid 8.5/10 for me

The scene between Samuel and the king and his royal guards in the last episode was GOATED.



With the way season 2 ended, season 3 is going to be war!!!!!!!

It's even funnier in the Bible when Samuel makes Saul prophesy. Saul had sent two groups of men first, and Samuel made them all start prophesying in a frenzy. Then Saul makes a third attempt and tears his clothes off and prophesies naked all night.

Chat to me my G..Is this chatter about the S2 been one of the best shows of 2025 a gimmick or it's actually true? cuz i genuinely thought they had nothing left in the "tank" after S1....make i put body? 👀😩

bro I was kind of confused that’s why I said this one is different from all the films I’ve seen.

The political views is giving GOT vibe and the historical way and Saxons and the church issues is giving Viking vibe.

Robinhood guy is a Saxons kind of similar to Vikings but there tribes is from Germany and they get a goddess that show her self in some scenes in the series because of Robinhood guy and the goddess protects him so it’s a historical story b4 he started doing his personal stuff.
