Good day, fellas. This soldier was dismissed for shooting at terrorists.

Nigeria Army Dismises Soldier For Firing Back At Boko Haram Terrorists During Attack

The Nigerian Army has dismissed a frontline soldier, Private Isah Emmanuel, after he allegedly refused to obey a direct ceasefire order issued by his commanding officer during a fierce encounter with Boko Haram insurgents.

The incident occurred on November 17, 2025, when troops under the 16 Brigade Garrison reportedly came under intense attack from Boko Haram fighters. According to internal military documents sighted by reporters, the commanding officer instructed his men to cease fire as part of a tactical withdrawal and repositioning strategy. However, Private Emmanuel defied the directive, arguing that halting fire at that critical moment could expose him and other soldiers to certain death.

Sources within the military said Emmanuel continued firing at the advancing insurgents, allegedly “bombarding their positions with sustained rounds,” a move that reportedly forced the attackers to retreat. Some personnel who witnessed the confrontation said the soldier acted out of fear for his life, insisting that the ceasefire order came at a dangerous moment when enemy fighters were gaining ground.

Despite the outcome of the encounter, the Army ruled that Emmanuel’s action amounted to “disobedience to standing order,” a serious offence under military law. His dismissal was subsequently approved and documented under:

Dismissed Regiment
Army No: 22NA/83/7262
Rank: Private
Name: Isah Emmanuel
Unit: 16 Brigade Garrison
Offence: Disobedience to Standing Order
Date: 17/11/2025

Military analysts say the case highlights the delicate balance between survival instincts on the battlefield and the strict chain of command required in military operations. While some Nigerians online have expressed sympathy for the dismissed soldier, arguing that he may have saved his unit from heavier casualties, others insist that discipline remains the backbone of the armed forces.

As of press time, the Nigerian Army had not issued an official public commentary beyond the internal dismissal notice. It remains unclear whether Private Emmanuel plans to appeal the decision or seek legal redress through military tribunals.

The incident adds to growing debates over rules of engagement, troop welfare, and survival tactics in Nigeria’s prolonged fight against Boko Haram and other extremist elements in the country’s northeastern region.

See the hero that abnormal humans will refuse to recognize. If this report is true, You are a step ahead of your whole battalion.
It's either there is a formation of genocidal army with civilian machinery fighters going on or something I can't wrap my hands around.
Majority of politicians lack human empathy, with the way they parade themselves with full military guerrilla style convoys.
Something big is about to go down

What did I just read for heavens sake. I would want to believe that this story is not true because if true then Nigeria is definitely under siege and the Nigerian military has been heavily compromised. I weep for this country called Nigeria and I pray that God Almighty would raise up a helper.
This must be investigated and that commanding officer should be interrogated so as to know whom he is working for . We must not allow matters like this to just die NO
Let's repost this story and make it go viral so the international community can see the reality we're being faced with in the country called Nigeria.

The commanding Officer could have sighted his nephew from afar during the shootout grin.

He should be thankful to his Creator for being dismissed.. These types don't usually last, they are the 'battlefield sacrifice. Truly, there was a country.

Congratulations Private Emmanuel. At least you are going home with your life rather than following dangerous orders and being returned home in a coffin wrapped with Nigerian flag. Serving in a military where promotion is not largely based on merit is a risk because politics or quota system will not confer battle knowledge or skill upon the beneficiaries. Having a quota system commanding officer in a battle is a serious and major risk.

They don't even parade captured insurgents!
The only time insurgency has drastically reduced is when mercenaries were engaged!
These northern Muslims are compromised!
You can't expect a man like Pantami as a soldier to fight jihadists!
