Nnamdi Kanu's Illegal Conviction And Nigeria's Lawless Corrupt Judiciary by truthera(op):
Tomorrow will be the final showdown between Nnamdi Kanu, Justice Omotosho and the federal government as Kanu's unjust trial which has been a subject of international shame to Nigeria comes to an end, all eyes will be on Justice Omotosho to see which section of the constitution he will quote to sentence Kanu over the terrorism charges brought against him by the government.

I've on several threads made the case that Nnamdi Kanu's trial is unconstitutional. Justice Omotosho will uphold illegality if Kanu is not released on 20th November 2025. There is no judge or court that is bigger than the 1999 constitution. Section 1 (3) of the constitution states that if any other law is not consistent with the provisions of the constitution, such law become void. This is to say that any legal interpretation, judgement or declaration that does not adhere to any section or provisions clearly stated by the constitution should be disregarded so based on section 1 (3), if Nnamdi Kanu must be sentenced, Justice Omotosho must ensure that his judgement does not contradict any provisions of 1999 constitution which will be impossible for him to do due to the following points I will list below.

- Non-Existent Law

It is no longer news that terrorism charges filed against Nnamdi Kanu was based on a repealed Terrorism Prevention Amendment Act 2013 so one wonders on what basis will Justice Omotosho declare Nnamdi Kanu guilty. Even if 2013 Terrorism Prevention Amendment Act was not repealed and replaced Kanu will still not be guilty of any terror charges against him. Section 36 (12) of 1999 constitution states that a person shall not be convicted of an offence unless the offence is defined and penality prescribed in a written law so let's assume Kanu is guilty which he is not, Omotosho will be violating this section of the constitution as he can not convict based on repealed non-existent law.

- Appeal Court Judgement

Another reason why Nnamdi Kanu's trial remains unconstitutional is what is written in section 36 (9) of the constitution. It states that no person that has been tried by any court for a criminal offence and convicted or freed can not face trial again for the same case. Since the Abuja court of appeal discharged Kanu, Justice Omotosho should've thrown out the suit, this second trial should not have been entertained by either the Supreme Court or Justice Omotosho's Federal High Court. The law is clear as once a person is acquitted, he can’t face trial again on same case. Supreme Court’s ruling to reopen Kanu's case clearly ignored this law.

In summary, what Nigeria's judiciary has done and currently doing to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is nothing but injustice.... Kanu's illegal sentencing on 20th November 2025 will be a final confirmation that Nigeria's judiciary is irredeemably corrupt and lawless.... It will be the final verdict that Nigeria is a failed state, a banana republic, a zoo!

If Nigeria shamelessly fails to uphold it's laws in this case then it should be prepared to defend it's unjust lawless actions in the International Criminal Court (ICC) over Nnamdi Kanu...

Justice Omotosho, the whole world is watching you....

If you truly value your future and that of your children then you should be worried over what your country Nigeria has become.... You are laughing now because this injustice is been done to someone you don't like, surely this lawlessness and injustice will definitely not end with Nnamdi Kanu as you will also not be spared by it in due time. The country can not make any genuine progress or experience lasting peace until this injustice ends, Nnamdi Kanu is released and the igbos are allowed to exercise their right to self-determination over the British experiment called Nigeria.... It is the judiciary and not Nnamdi Kanu that is on trial.... We shall see how it goes tomorrow, the ICC will be next....

It’s ‘one Nigerianists’ like you that are a major part of the reason Nigeria is the shithole it is today! All you’re obsessed about is grabbing and holding on to power by any means….fair or foul, and trying to cheat and subjugate the Igbo economically and politically! That’s what gives you fulfilment and validation in life! The British are enablers and complicit in what Nigeria has become today, so only poor students of history would have expected them to be proactively involved in trying to get Mazi Kanu freed!

Good development. Today, an ISWAP terrorist kingpin was sentenced to 20 years in prison. By tomorrow, another terrorist kingpin who has targeted the Igbo and Lagos will be taken to his rightful place in Kuje prison.

Give us a link to the particular instance Mazi Kanu instructed anyone to burn down the country you aptly described as a zoo! Una stock-in-trade is to either quote him out of context, or attribute outright lies to him!

I think Nnamdi Kanu knew he wouldn't ever get justice in Nigeria

A government that illegally sends Soldiers to your house to kill you isn't one that is looking to give you justice

A government that breaks its own extradition laws, and that of Kenya, to go and kidnap you and bring you back to Nigeria, isn't one that cares about giving you justice

A government that refuses to release you when the courts order that you be released, is not one that will give you justice

Nnamdi Kanu already knew that no mattwr what the Judge says tomorrow, the Nigerian authorities wouldn't release him.

All freedom fighters mentally prepare for detention, the country of injustice and oppression they fight to free themselves from isn't one that cares about justice
Re: Nnamdi Kanu's Illegal Conviction And Nigeria's Lawless Corrupt Judiciary by truthera(op):
Simply put, a government that can subvert it's country's constitution can not and will not support or give you justice. If supreme court judges in a flagrant disregard of section 36 (9) forced the illegal continuation of Nnamdi Kanu's trial then nothing should surprise you over the outcome of tomorrows judgement as a replication of this mockery of justice by the Supreme Court at the Justice Omotosho's federal high court will only reinforce the popular notion that justice in Nigeria has gone to the dogs, and that Nigeria's judges, even the Supreme Court judges, have been reduced to hustlers, who, in their bazaar mentality, can pander to even the most atrocious selfish agenda of any highest bidder.

With the pathetic corrupt state of the country's justice system, there is no doubt that the judiciary who are the Supreme Arbiters of Nigeria have abandoned the essence of their oath of office, which is striving for the greatest good, and embraced the greatest evil. For in the words of the ancient Greek philosopher, Plato, “…justice is the greatest good and injustice the greatest evil”. This signifies a complete moral and ethical disaster for the country; and presage to Nigerians total loss of sense of outrage.

In the words of a onetime American senator, Daniel Moynihan, “Any nation that has lost its sense of outrage, is destined for extinction”.

I hold no hope for Nigeria as the British experiment has expired, only total restructuring or division of the country will save it's indigenous people from destruction.
