Kebbi State, Nigeria — Deep grief and shock have engulfed several communities in Kebbi State following a deadly attack in which terrorists reportedly killed a school principal, several teachers, and kidnapped over 50 female students.

Residents describe the attack as one of the most devastating to hit the area in recent times. Families who lost loved ones and parents whose daughters were taken remain overwhelmed with despair, demanding urgent action from authorities.

According to community members, the attackers stormed the school during early hours, opening fire and causing chaos as students and staff attempted to flee. The school principal and teachers were reportedly killed while trying to protect the students.

The mass abduction has intensified fears in the affected communities, with many residents expressing frustration, anger, and deep disappointment in the government’s inability to prevent repeated attacks on schools.

“We feel abandoned… our children, our teachers—they were not protected,” one grieving parent said, describing the situation as “hopeless and heartbreaking.”

Security agencies are yet to provide full details of the incident, and efforts toward rescuing the kidnapped students are still underway. Meanwhile, community leaders are calling for urgent intervention, improved security, and long-term measures to prevent further tragedies.

As the state mourns, families continue to wait anxiously for news about their missing daughters, clinging to hope amid overwhelming pain.
