I just checked it's literally putting the router on 3G mode which will limit the speed there is no way you will get 20Mbps on 3G you can get around 10Mbps to 12Mbps though

I am getting minimum of 9mbps and most times I will get 21mbps... I hv Downloaded more than 1tllb files with it. My first month of buying the router was a disaster, because it was very slow .. I was about to sell it because of bad network .. U can give it a try, there is not harm iñ trying

Please house, is it possible or workable to use a different ODU registered physical sim on a different ODU box. Will it work?
A scenario where a registered box was installed in a different location by mistake and did a physical sim swap for my own number, can this sim work on the ODU box installed at my location?

Well, from my personal experience with the 20Mbps and 50Mbps plan, I got throttled only after using 1TB.

Hey guys, During the day, my internet speed oscillate between 40/55mbps but for an like a month now, once it is 7pm till around 10.30pm I barely get 5mbps.

Is any other person experiencing the same?

It's frustrating because it is in the night I get to stream iptv but with the bad network in the night, it buffers a lot

It becomes capped at 2Mbps, that's about 250KBps in download speed.

It's just an ok LTE band....not as strong or fast as their band 7. If you want the best speed lock band 7(2600MHz) or EARFCN 3256. It's a 20MHz bandwidth. The others are 10MHz bandwidth

I have noticed what someone said here is true. All bands perform abysmally at night. Maybe it's my location but that's irritating and totally frustrating.

Interestingly, switching the router to 3G only, although reading very low on speed tests, appears to at least be usable for streams.

It's a pity that in Nigeria, our best 4G network band is band 7. This is a mid-range version that tens of millions are managing in this country. Maybe that's why Airtel didn't have the balls to advertise their new band 1 because it's of a lower quality to band 7.

Our service providers should do better because there are better 4G bands that can serve better than band 7.

The higher the MHz, the better the quality and speed.

Popular 4G bands Average speed
Band 28: 750MHz
Band 3: 1800MHz
Band 1: 2100MHz
Band 40: 2300MHz
Band 7: 2600MHz

So, if you're complaining of slow network, check your band. It could be band 28 (glo) or band 3 (most popular in the country).

If you have the Mid-level 4G band 7 (4G+), check if your service provider has it in your area and lock it in.

I can confirm that all 9ja network have this band 7; just that Mtn has the highest coverage of it.

The problem with the band 7 is that it doesn't have good range, Higher frequency, shorter wavelength. Because of that it's not readily available. But if you can lock it and its available, you will have good speed. In my place the only time I don't have 50mbps speed is only when the band is not available. Being available doesn't mean the band isn't their, it just means the quality of the frequency reaching your location is too weak for it to be detected by your device or ODU.

Another way our network compliment for speed is through carrier aggregation. 7 might not be available, but 1, 3, 8 are present. So the 3 bands/frequencies present are aggregated together to give good speed.

In your own case band 7 isn't present, but others are so they are aggregated together to still give you good speed. I am only responding based on your network report screenshot

Yes that's just one of the cell id based on your location. In my location I have noticed about 4. Try all the different ones you notice in your location. Except you are very far from an available cell tower, you should have one that will give you the speed you want consistently

Can you give a screenshot of your network report showing the bands, frequencies, PCI.....that will help to understand better

I don’t know what’s wrong with my network since two days ago, I have been having this issue where my network get throttle, I will be having like 0.9 Mbps, for 2-3 hours. It happened yesterday and it happened today again in the afternoon, same time as yesterday, after sometime it comes back to regular speed . I’ve tried everything, the band lock, the cell lock, everything that has been recommended here.

It's the zlt so I don't have option to choose 3g only, I don't think it's network based anyways. Maybe throttling from airtel directly. Any solutions please?
