Man ought to have threaded carefully too. He was kinda arrogant during his reign and still arrogant in the court Imagine eastern ppl bowing to him and women laying down their clothes for him to walk on, no big deal in all those, but the feelings he demonstrated on those events, indicated he's already seeing himself as their lord also as the next Ojukwu, no govt. would appreciate that, even Sunday Igboho too had to be humbled by the Govt. Can't also forget an incident where he went to face the soldiers, beating his chest, the soldiers were just looking at him, if they had picked him up right there, nothing would happen. There's also a place he was telling his followers, saying he would go to Abuja and come back with the head of the president, during Buhari's regime, a whole sitting president, even Tompolo with all his heavy duty guards and munitions won't say that, can't forget that. Should Buhari be alive and still the president, this would have been a different sentence. Mr Man Threaded with so much pride and arrogance mhen, it's well. |

Ipob and their supporters are the biggest clowns on earth. You threatened the US and the UK yet you still pleading and begging them to come rescue you. This is why we say Nnamdi Kanu and his followers are a bunch of illiterates. I wasn't even aware that the chief terrorist threatened the US and UK, thank God for this trial that shed more light on his atrocities. Pretty sure, the US and UK are aware of his threat against them and are fully in support to put him in prison for life. |

Kanu's case has been a very interesting one. The judge's ruling today would make some people to faint online. The judge's name, Justice Omotosho, would be used for some interesting online games |

sofeo:He won't get it, he will never get it. If you guys could raise an uproar when the President granted pardoned to some people including a woman who murdered her husband and the President was forced to withdraw the pardon. How can a terrorist be granted pardon?. When you guys cry and shout about everything, we always warned you to be careful what you wish for. |

Kanu's actions clearly went beyond legitimate self-determination advocacy into the realm of terrorism. |

Kukutente23:Threats that was carried out by his foot soldiers whom he commanded to carry them out. Go and listen to the judgement and get yourself informed. Simon Ekpa was convicted of terrorism in Finland for his incitements on social media. |

The fairness of Nnamdi Kanu's judgment is questioned not because he is seen as blameless by all, but because the process appears politically motivated, illegal in its foundation, and applied with a clear double standard. The state's overwhelming focus on him, while seemingly turning a blind eye to the actions of other powerful individuals who have caused greater tangible harm to the Nigerian populace, creates a powerful and persistent perception of injustice and a two tiered legal system. |

And which other country has declared him wanted? The man had caused useless deaths though, life imprisonment seems to be fair and just. Our omoluabi judge did applied unique wisdom in this case. God heal and bless Nigeria. Tinubu, a bad man with good intentions. |

I wish they would use this same speed to bring to justice all those sponsoring the killings in the North, the masterminds behind the banditry, terrorism and daily bloodshed. Nigeria will only move forward when justice is applied evenly, not selectively. |

Kukutente23: What Nigerian Law Says 1. Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022 This is the current law (it replaced the earlier 2011 Act). Under this Act, a person who threatens to do an act preparatory to or in furtherance of an act of terrorism commits an offence. The law also penalizes assisting, facilitating, organizing, or inciting terrorism. 2. Definition of an “Act of Terrorism” Under the old Terrorism (Prevention) Act (2011), which is largely carried forward: an “act of terrorism” is defined as something done with malice aforethought that: May seriously harm or damage Nigeria (or an international body), and Is intended to: Unduly compel a government to act or not act, Seriously intimidate the public, or Destabilize political, economic, or social structures. And the act involves things like attacks on life, destruction of infrastructure, or other severe harm. 3. Punishment Under the older Act, threatening or preparing a terrorist act, or facilitating terrorism, can lead to life imprisonment or a very large fine. The 2022 Act has its own set of penalties (depending on the offence), but the principle remains: threats are criminalized when they constitute terrorism. Interpretation & Key Points Threats are explicitly covered: Nigerian law doesn’t only target actual “violent acts” — it also criminalizes threats of terrorism. Intent matters: The threatened act must be “in furtherance of” terrorism. That means it's not just any threat — it should be related to coercion, intimidation, or destabilization with a political or ideological aim. Severity of the threat: For something to legally count as terrorism, the underlying act (or the threatened act) generally has to be serious (e.g., risk of death, big damage, or major public disruption). Reporting obligations: Under the law, if you have material information (i.e., knowledge) about potential terrorism acts, failing to report it to authorities is itself an offence. |
