US Stock lose $1trillion as $120billion global Crypto Wipeout leaves Nigerians in Agony
ABUJA, NIGERIA - On November 20, 2025, the crypto world took a big hit. The total value of all cryptocurrencies dropped by about $120 billion in just one day. This came after a tough month where the market had already lost over $1 trillion since its high points earlier in the year. Bitcoin, the biggest crypto, fell by 3.48%, closing around $86,650. Ethereum dropped 3.71%, and other coins like Solana plunged even more, by 10.4%.

It was a rough day for everyone in crypto, but Nigerians felt the pain extra hard.Nigeria loves crypto. More than anywhere else in Africa, people here use it a lot. Last year alone, Nigerians traded over $50 billion in cryptocurrencies.

Why? The naira, our money, keeps losing value because of inflation and economic troubles. Crypto helps people protect their savings, send money to family abroad without high fees, and even make a living through trading or apps. Many young folks skip the stock market or banks because they don't trust them anymore. Instead, they bet on Bitcoin and others for quick wins.

But when crashes like this happen, it hurts bad. Imagine a trader in Lagos who put his savings into Bitcoin last month when it was over $90,000. Now, it's below that, and he's lost thousands of naira overnight. Families relying on crypto for remittances from the US or UK see their money shrink fast. Social media is full of stories: people saying they're "in agony" or "devastated." One report called it a "flash crash" that wiped out billions in hours, leaving Africans wondering what's next.

This isn't the first time. Nigeria's own stock market crashed hard on November 11, losing about N4.6 trillion in one day due to global tensions.

Add the crypto drop, and it's like a double punch. Geopolitical stuff, like wars and elections, made big investors pull out. Bitcoin ETFs saw over $1 billion in outflows, showing even pros are scared.

For Nigerians, who face power outages, job shortages, and rising food prices, crypto was a hope. Now, it's turning into a nightmare. What's causing all this? Experts say it's a mix of fear from rising interest rates, AI stock bubbles bursting, and less hype around crypto after its big run-up. The US stock market lost $1 trillion the same day, with companies like Nvidia and Apple down too.For Nigerians, the agony is real. Many are holding on, hoping for a bounce back. But experts warn: Crypto is risky. Diversify, don't invest what you can't lose, and maybe look at stable options. As one trader said, "We rise again, but this one stings." The market might recover, but for now, the wipeout leaves scars.

I have refused to embrace this model of "investment" and "transaction" since it's inception...I can't really say why. I just don't trust it.

If you have knowledge about crypto you would say ,,,rather than invest all your cash directly into solid and physical business you can diversify some funds for crypto investment,, I made $2000, last year from this same crypto, for the first time venturing into it,,my sisters combined made over 500Million Naira in 2021/2022 and that was the turning point in their lives and exit from this Kingdom of Darkness ..

So currently Crypto is facing BEAR 🐻 ❣️ ‼️ MARKET PRESSURE,, ONCE ITS THE BULLS 🐂 TURN WE GO DRIVE WETIN NO GOOD FOR THIS UNA BAD NIGERIAN ROADS.

MY ADVICE , IF YOU HAVE SPARE MONEY 💰 PACK ENOUGH CRYPTO NOW THAT YOU CAN GET IT CHEAP.

MY RECOMMENDATIONS BUY $Pi, WHY $Pi,, I HAVE SEEN ITS BEAR🐻 MARKET RESISTANT,, IMAGINE WHAT IT'LL DO IN THE BULL'S 🐂!!!
