Bitcoin Price May Fall Further to $10,000, Analyst Warns

Bitcoin, the world's most popular cryptocurrency, is facing tough times right now. On November 20, 2025, its price took a sharp dive, briefly dropping below $88,000 before settling around $87,300. That's a drop of about 4% in just one day and nearly 13% over the past week. Not long ago, it was soaring above $103,000, so this sudden slump has left many investors worried.

If you're new to this, Bitcoin is like digital money that's not controlled by any bank or government. People buy and sell it hoping the value goes up, but it's known for wild swings. Right now, the mood in the market is one of panic. There's something called the Fear and Greed Index, which measures how scared or excited investors are. It's sitting at a low 11, signaling "extreme fear" for the second week in a row. When fear takes over, people start selling fast, which pushes prices down even more. The fallout has been brutal.

In the last 24 hours alone, over 220,000 traders have been forced to close their positions – that's called liquidation in crypto speak. It happens when bets go wrong and systems automatically sell off assets to cover losses. The total value wiped out? A staggering $794 million, with Bitcoin accounting for about $118 million of that pain. But here's where it gets really concerning.

A top analyst from Bloomberg, Mike McGlone, is sounding the alarm that things could get much worse. He says Bitcoin's current setup looks a lot like what happened back in 2018. That year, the price crashed from around $10,000 all the way down to about $3,000. McGlone warns that if history repeats, we could see Bitcoin tumble back to $10,000 levels. "The market could unwind all the way if pressure builds on risky investments," he explained.

Why is this happening? McGlone points to a few big factors. First, there's more Bitcoin being created or released into the market, which can dilute its value like printing too much money. Second, money flowing into Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) – these are like easy ways for regular folks to invest without buying the coin directly – is happening late in the cycle, which often signals a peak before a drop. On top of that, the broader economy isn't looking great, with stock markets showing signs of shakiness.

He also mentioned volatility indicators. The VIX, often called the "fear gauge" for stocks, is hanging around its long-term average, hinting at potential storms ahead. Meanwhile, the S&P 500's day-to-day swings are as calm as they were in 2017, right before some big market wobbles. "I don't spot any obvious reason why Bitcoin's fall would stop soon," McGlone added.Of course, crypto is unpredictable. Some experts think this is just a bump on the road to higher prices, driven by things like new regulations or tech advancements.

But for now, if you're thinking about dipping your toes in, remember: it's high-risk. Prices can rocket up, but they can crash hard too. Always do your homework and only invest what you can afford to lose. This dip comes amid other crypto drama, like hedge fund closures and warnings of a "nuclear winter" in the market. Even big names like the author of "Rich Dad Poor Dad" are talking about "fake money" crashing. Whether Bitcoin bounces back or keeps sliding, one thing's clear – it's a rollercoaster ride that's not for the faint-hearted.

What a loss. Best option is to sell now and buy again when it starts to pick. We just enjoyed a little boom and went straight to free fall.
