I think when fg are ready to halt the insecurities, they will abolish NPF and allow state police where the members will only be indigenes of the towns, villages and cities within the state. |

VOsimhen144:The kidnapping of school children has started and it wouldn't stop until after the 2027 election. I can see politicians hand in all these. |

Hellisreal70:The state police would be also very poorly funded and unable to fight the terrorists. Most states have very very poor budgets, and then corruption comes in, and then security votes can't do much except buy cars for the NPF itself. The only way states would be able to fund state police for now is by taxing everyone in the state massively (and y'all hate the mention of tax). Also, keep in mind things won't improve. Your average terrorist does not attack schools in the capital of a state or in the big cities. They attack the remote small villages and towns with schools there. State police cannot be everywhere at once. Even if you get the indigenes to be the state police, you got to fund them well enough to be equipped to fight the bandits, you got to get things like a modern police car, modern digital records, modern jails , modern communications, even more and more helicopters and drones. (NPF has only one helicopter for the whole country. IN America with state police, some states get five. One state alone five)..and that would cost far more than the budget of any state in this country. Anytime I hear state police, I always laugh. I am not opposed to state police, but until Nigerians are ready to pay for a good state police, we will just be sending men with sticks against terroists with AK 47 and RPG. |

nairalanda1:How can we hear the school authority's side? Any clue? This is important before we judge. These intelligence they are always getting, why can't they act on it rather than these reactionary measures? How long will you shut down schools? Won't the bad guys reappear when they reopen even after a long closure? |
| Re: Niger Govt Confirms Kidnap Of Students In Agwara, Blames School by nairalanda1(m): 1:51pm On Nov 21, 2025 |
BeardedMeat:Oga, all the other schools in Niger state have closed. This school refused to close. Na only them come? Government is bad, my guy, but sometimes human beings are stubborn too and behave as if bad things can never happen to them Even if the school tells tale that they 'did not hear'...the fact is they closed down and then opened again and did not tell government. That indicts them Government lies, yes, but so do regular humans. PLus even intelligence, how many police and soldiers can they send to the school. At most ten. You forget that these bandits operate by swarming a single school in high numbers sometimes reaching a hundred...what can ten men do? |

nairalanda1:We need to hear the school's side of the story. It's necessary. I do not for one believe any school would deliberately put their pupils in harms way so branzely. |

BeardedMeat:School closed down after hearing warning, and then reopened AND did not tell government. Meanwhile, other schools stayed closed in the same zone. Okay. |

BeardedMeat:There’s nobody that cannot be touched. Such people fear gun and exposure pass anything. They are only powerful because they give the impression that they are. It only takes a President that is willing to come to their level and deal with them with the same kind of way they operate and they won’t last for 1 day. Some will even have heart attack and go from there if they see soldiers at their door. |

I love how Northern youths were quick to protest en masse over—was it fuel subsidy?—even to the extent of waving Niger flags, yet they can’t protest over the abductions of school children by Organised Political opposition and its artificial "insecurity-is-caused- by-bad-government", wing. |
