The events of the past few days has left everyone perplexed and down cast.
Starting with the designation of Nigeria by the USA as a country of Particular concern, the kidnap of the school girls in kebbi, kidnap of church goers in Kwara, the killing of a Brigadier general , the sentencing of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, and most recently the kidnap of over 50 students from the Catholic school in Niger state.
The mood in the country is so bad, and most reasonable people are worried!

On two auspicious occasions amidst numerous engagements within the last 3 months, myself alongside other well meaning Nigerians have sat down on a table with the Deputy Speaker and then with the Son of the President and the burning issues discussed were the insecurity, the new tax regime as it affects businesses, ease of doing business in the country, customs, FIRS, Nafdac and the political solutions that can lead to the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
I can tell you that numerous efforts have been going on on these issues.

My dear brothers and sisters, this is no time to further divide us.
A lot of people have been tirelessly working behind the scene devoting time and resources to see our brother Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is free and reunited with us.

One thing is very clear here: No Igbo man or woman will have peace if MNK does not regain his freedom, and ala Igbo will NEVER be the same again.......

Tempers are high, words are being exchanged but one thing is also clear; we all want MNK out, and we will NEVER rest till MNK is out.

Our dear President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, this is the time for you to heed the cry of our people and free Nnamdi Kanu.

Most importantly, we are working on a Nigeria where each of us can live and operate freely without fear regardless of ethnicity, religion and culture.

Constructive agitations remain the bedrock upon which great societies are built, but solutions will only be found on the negotiation table.

Obi cubana should be grateful to justice omotosho for sending cownu to faraway sokoto prison,it is a judgement that should be welcomed by everyone.

Ipob activities brought a lot of suffering, violence to the once peaceful south east.The activities of ipob scared away lots of investors.

The issue of Nnamdi Kanu shouldn't be taken lightly by the South East politicians.

The way they are handling the matter is just too casual.

Kanu's matter is beyond just releasing him, there are some conditions attached to his release

They are making all this statements to avoid been devoured by there fellow frustrated terrorist apologists. Not like they really care what happens to MNK. In few days, they will never speak about it again.

Tinubu/APC/FG should remember to do justice for the over 178 Security Agents killed by Nnamdi Kanu's direct order.. Those men are people's fathers, wives, Children.

The numerous Igbo men and women gruesomely murdered in cold blood as directed by the now Convicted terrorist Nnamdi Kanu.. They should be justice for them.

Sentencing Nnamdi kanu to life imprisonment is the least the govt can do for the brave men and women who were murdered in their prime through the action of one Mad man..

Again this is insensitiveto push to the Frontpage.

This is almost a dozen about the convicted terrorist on the frontpage with content and remarks in affront to the Judicial Pronouncement that convicts him. Nairaland is not supposed to be seen as profiteering from media canceling the griefs of the murdered victims.


Real people are grieving over the murder of their loved ones by the actions of the convicted terrorist.

This narrative to misinform and denigrate the murder of the victims as collateral damage will not work.

The children of Gulak and relatives of other victims of Nnamdi kanu are grieving, seeing the PR for the convicted terrorist all over the frontpage of Nairaland further break their hearts.
Real people were murdered! Real people are grieving. The court clearly pronounced that they were murdered because of the actions of Nnamdi kanu! It's a serious criminal conviction so Cubana should stop dancing on the graves of the victims.

The law enforcement agents need to protect the judiciary from these media assault on the verdict by politicians and irresponsible influencers dancing on the graves of the victims of the convicted terrorist.

Why does this read like a speech after a successful coup in the earliest military era?

"Events of the past days..." This reads more like a successful coup announcement.

Nobody is above the law. Kanu should serve his sentence.

Seem he will be freed finally via Presidential pardon to buy the minds of the south easterners. The whole script playing well 😄 but trust Igbo people.. They will still say TAaaaH and change the pardon story to something else as long as Igbos are still treated like the minority group politically. See well armed Hausa/Fulani dem whereas Nigeria government is freeing their commanders who are killing & beheading Nigeria army. Nigeria still have a long way to go

When Simon Ekpa was arrested and jailed, everyone in the East rejoiced

When Kanu was sentenced everyone mourned.

Justice must not only be served, but must be seen to have been served.

You're right. More of sentiments to appeal to the apologists crowd. You can't blame him, he has an empire to sustain and reprisal can be brutal for him and his loved ones.

Firstly I want to say this..

Anybody wey make him own money pass anybody for him family or generations is a very wise man and, no be luck

Secondly, MNK would be placed under house rest in another option.

Kanu would have long been released but for the threats he poses to politicians in the south east.

If you notice, part of Kanu's sentencing is that he must be denied every access to electronic means of communication. They know Kanu can in one single post declare that any governor in the South east be voted out and it will happen. Kanu is in prison today because Igbo politicians want it so.
