I have followed people's calls to release or pardon Mr. Kanu. I understand this call coming from people of Igbo extraction, especially the opposition politicians from that ethnicity. It will be hard for people in this category to be objective with the prevailing public sentiments in their home region. However, when I heard people such as Bianca Ojukuw (govt cabinet member) and Shehu Sani (chiefain of APC) calling for dialogue for peace, I get a bit confused. This can be perceive as a subtle politicking aim to endear the igbo ethnicity. I believe if sentiments are set aside absolutely and we want to be having a normal and reasonable discussions on NKs sentence, the question should be: is Kanu fairly trial and sentenced? I will call that the process be thoroughly reviewed, and in: Case 1: If the answer still seem to be NO, then, we should be talking about appeals in a higher court, where the process will be reevaluated and the sentence overturned. Case 2: But if the answer remains Yes (now or in later judgements), where Kanu can be further established to be guilty of the terrorism crimes, then Mr Kanu must be allowed to serve his sentence. And if he will ever be considered for a pardon, it should be based on good conducts in jail and clear indications that he is changed and a better citizen, who will be a good influence if released back into the society. In a normal event: If there are 100 terrorists, and just one is fairly trial and sentence (as the in Case 2), the aggrieved kinsmen of the convicted terrorist should be asking for trial and conviction of the remaining 99 terrorists, not the release of the one that have been taken out by the system. Save for ignorance, dirty politics, and calumny, why would any group of people agitate for the release of terror back into their community? |

Bianca Ojukwu is a government appointee. She has no business with the Nnamdi Kanu discussion. |

She aleardy made a length comment on the discussion. My summary of are stand is that "there should be dialogue towards freeing NK" https://www.nairaland.com/8566274/bianca-ojukwu-reacts-nnamdi-kanus#137551650 ebukal67x: |
