NIGER STATE GOVERNMENT SHUTS DOWN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS IN THE STATE

Niger State Government has ordered the closure of all public and private Primary and Secondary Schools across the State.

Governor Bago stated this shortly after the security meeting with heads of security agencies following the recent kidnapping of School children at St Mary's Catholic School Papiri, Agwara Local Government Area of the State

Governor Bago said, additionally all Missionary, Islamic Schools and Federal Government Colleges including FGC Minna, have also been shut down until further notice.

Tertiary Institutions are not affected except for those in the defined vulnerable areas in Niger North and East Senatorial Districts respectively

Governor Bago called on all heads of security agencies, Civil Society Organisations, the organized labour and religious leaders to focus on the rescue of the children and reiterated that the government will continue to protect the lives and property of its citizens.

Governor Bago who described the incident as sad and unfortunate, adding that the overall mission is to see how the kidnapped children and other kidnapped victims will be rescued.

He said the number of children kidnapped from the St. Mary's Catholic School has not been ascertained as the Department of State Service, Nigeria Police and other security agencies are already carrying out headcount to ascertain the actual figure.

They said Education is Haram. And now they’ve succeeded in getting schools to shut down.

Very soon all the schools in the entire Northern Nigeria will be shut down. And you say Boko Haram will not be happy.

He’s the GCFR for Bleep’s sake,he swore an oath to defend the country against both foreign and domestic aggression.

Even if the kidnapping problem is caused by disgruntled politicians (which you said, and is obviously not true), it’s his duty to track them down, prosecute them, and jail them.

The primary function of government is to protect the lives and property of its citizens.

A government that fails in this has failed woefully on all fronts. You guys should stop making excuses for them.

When Trump was raging about Christian Genocide he wasn’t angry about genocide. He was angry about the aggravated insecurity in the North which the Nigerian government are unable to contain despite the financial aids amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars the United States provide on an annual basis.
He use that Christian genocide line as an excuse he will use to suspend free financial aids he has been giving to Nigeria

Any state govt that declares shutdown of school should be declared a state of emergency. It simply means he can't govern the state.
