Tell your family to have it shipped to you. It will get to you within 3 days max. Use DHL shaa, add antibiotics to it. They can send enough in case of next time. While you wait, buy analgesic like paracetamol to suppress the pain. Some unpopular pharmacy stores do sell but it will be expensive . Wallgreens and CVS may not sell.

Get Alovera leaves, boil them for 20 minutes, leave it to cool down, sip 1/2 tea teacup early in the morning, and evening before bed. Do this for 4 days, and let me know how you feel.

Go to any African or Nigerian shop. They usually have the tablets from Nigeria. It will just be pricey.

You should've treated malaria before traveling, whether or not you had the symptoms naa.

Anyways, keep taking enough fruits to help your body fight it. Fruit helps.
When you're feeling feverish, take hot black tea to help bring down the fever.

Unfortunately, most internists and ER physicians will not order labs for the Plasmodium parasites, and a lot of labs don't test for it. You must request for it, else they'll think you have Influenza, as they share almost similar signs and symptoms.

If eventually you get a positive result for Plasmodium, the typical therapy in the U S. is Hydoxychloroquine plus Doxycyline, as no pharmacy stock ACT medications, since malaria is currently an imported disease and not ubiquitous in the U.S.

Next time you travel to Nigeria, make sure you buy some ACT drugs. That'll save you a lot of headache with the U.S healthcare system.

Practically it may not be Malaria at all

Let us assume 100% it is Malaria

Best advice is to visit a hospital assuming you will not be picked up by ICE

Malaria is a notifiable disease and you will come under scrutiny

If ICE is an issue
Consider
1. Go to Chinese herbal doctor
2. Tell pharmacist you are travelling tomorrow for 6 weeks to Nigeria and you want drugs for prevention/prophylaxis

Many prophylaxis drugs can be used for treatment but dose is different

No mind am. It's November and it's getting cold across North America. In fact, it's already too cold for someone coming from a tropical region. For most, the body will naturally react.

If he is sure it's malaria then most of his options are already listed in the comments.

In addition, he should go to any busy African store and talk to folks there.

This is America, big city without garden or small farm here and there or place where common Africa herbs and weeds grow.

Bitter leaf contain anti-malaria properties. This is what I use to handle malaria, very low cost and life saving. Just get an handful bitter leaf, squeeze the juice out and drink it. If you cannot handle the bitterness, prepare a stew with it and make sure you eat a lot of it. This helps alot in handling malaria

malaria is not a disease that affects them in the USA. 99% of the doctors there have never treated malaria nor recognize the symptoms. Few hospitals have tropical diseases units which helps with illness gotten from abroad. So wetin u dey yarn😒

Malaria has been eradicated in 1st world countries. The truth is, they hardly know how to treat it anymore, and it's far down the list of what they'll focus on for diagnosis, especially for doctors who've never come across it. This just shows you how far back Naija is.

Squeeze the lime in a cup put the tea bag and ginger and garlic leaves for some hours then drink thank me later

You are in serious trouble oo! Are you sure you are in US? They don’t sell such medicines over the counter. So I am not sure who advises you to go to a pharmacy to buy the medicine.

Anyway, your best bet is to just go to Emergency Room or see a private physician for prescription of Mefloquine. That’s the most common treatment for malaria in US. You can’t get it any other way.

And for those in Nigeria looking to travel to US or Europe soon, it’s advisable to put yourselves on a regimen of anti-malaria (Sunday-Sunday medicine) at least 1 month prior to your trip to clear any malaria parasites in your system.
