Alleged Sexual Misconduct: Paystack Has Fired Me — Ezra Olubi Reveals as He Considers Legal Options

Terminated

Over the past few days, my name and reputation, built over years as co-founder and technical leader at Paystack, have been called into question because of information circulating online. In response, the Board of Directors of Paystack placed me on suspension and initiated what was described as an “independent” investigation.

Once that process began, I chose not to make any public statements. I did this to avoid interfering with the investigation and because I expected a fair, thorough and unbiased review of the allegations being discussed online. This created a vacuum that allowed assumptions and misrepresentations to spread without challenge.

Those who know me personally or professionally understand that the posts being circulated do not reflect my conduct or the way I have lived my life. I have always, to the best of my ability, conducted myself in a manner that respects everyone’s dignity and safety.

On Saturday, 22 November 2025, I was informed that my employment had been terminated. This decision was taken before the supposed investigation was concluded, and without any meeting, hearing, or opportunity for me to respond to the issues raised, in clear contravention of the terms of the suspension and Paystack’s own internal policies.

As co-founder, technical leader and long-serving Board member, I have been part of instituting the systems and processes that underpin Paystack’s internal operations. I engaged with this investigation in good faith and cooperated fully with the Board’s directives on that basis.

My legal team is now reviewing the process that led to my purported termination, including its consistency with internal policies. They will take the steps they consider appropriate, and I will not be commenting further on this matter at this time.

Re: Paystack Sacks Ezra Olubi (Their Co-Founder) by HisSexcellency(m): 12:03pm On Nov 24, 2025
Many people underestimate how far the consequences of their actions, words, and overall conduct can travel. What you do today — whether in public, in private, or even in a seemingly small WhatsApp group — can quietly build or completely destroy opportunities years down the line. Ezra’s case is a loud reminder: your reputation is collateral. Once it’s damaged, even co-founding a big company like Paystack may not save you when the board meets

He stained the white of Paystack as one of Africa's unicorn.

Paystack on the other hand should have stuck to due process.

On an off key note, I think the guy is a witch.

Witches hold several solutions which if mankind especially Africa can be open-headed enough to understand and give them and other species of man sent to planet earth as crucial components, then perhaps we would have more fantastic stuffs.

This does not mean some of them won't chose to do evil and remain in the lower astral, much like how some so-called MoGs, "kingdom children" or "born agains" are.

-crazy input

Lol. His own unemployment ismt the same as an average Nigerian's .

You think this guy will be hawking CVs like the everyday graduate?

He cofounded the company, he wasn't employed by it.

He will definitely build another app and will still be fine.

When you raise funding via venture capitalists (series A, B, C, etc.) to build your company, you essentially give away full ownership of the company and become an employee to your investors.

If paystack was a one man business, no one would dare sack him.

Sacked from the company you founded because of sexual pervasive statements.

The guy messed himself up morally. He was at a time dressing like a woman.

May God help us!

Ezra thrown back into the labour market as how nah? You don't know him. That guy was the technical architect behind Paystack's payments infrastructure, a system that handled complex payment processing across multiple African countries with different regulations, currencies, and banking systems. They built it before AI made things easier. That is like being an accountant before calculator or writing was invented.

Beyond writing code, he's one of the most impactful technical builders in African tech. No, he's not back to job hunting. He's a dollar millionaire to begin with. He just needs time to clear his head and build something.

That's the beauty of skills

A stark reminder that with power comes responsibility. I saw some of the purported tweets by the gentleman and if truly he created those messages, no individual or institution would like to have any association with the originator.

That said, they should clarify issues to ensure due process was properly followed because it would be out of place for the tech company to purportedly sack of one of its founders the way the issue is going

He's an employee to the money bags funding the whole thing. The investors can boot him out if he doesn't do what they want or behave accordingly.
