Cash is King.

Venture capitalists take big risks to invest in startups, and become decisions makers and owners. Their risks are super high, so also their reward when the startups sre successful and profitable.

A lesson for startup founders is that you don't stay to long with the administration of the startup you funded via this method. Pivot to something else, and hold the majority share in the new business, or you also buy other startups. This is what Elon did also. He quit PayPal and started investing in other startups when money don land. He wasn't even the founder of Tesla that made him the richest man. This a big lesson here. The same way he bought X.

Paystack itself is not a reliable company. They've withheld my earnings for a month now and won't explain why, other than that they're "reviewing" my account.

I created this thread about them https://www.nairaland.com/8561139/paystack-not-reliable-company

Kindly help me move it to the front page. I've been a member of this forum for over 10 years, and have seen people get issues resolved through Nairaland front page.

Kindly help me move the said thread to the front page. If that's the only thing Nairaland could do for me, I'll appreciate it. I am talking to you @Nlfpmod, @seun or whoever can

Lol. His own unemployment ismt the same as an average Nigerian's .

You think this guy will be hawking CVs like the everyday graduate?

He cofounded the company, he wasn't employed by it.

He will definitely build another app and will still be fine.
as they say, his money is long. However, his reputation is gone.

When you raise funding via venture capitalists (series A, B, C, etc.) to build your company, you essentially give away full ownership of the company and become an employee to your investors.

If paystack was a one man business, no one would dare sack him.
no one will sack him, but there will be consequences for his actions.

You can be sacked from the company you created.

Ezra thrown back into the labour market as how nah? You don't know him. That guy was the technical architect behind Paystack's payments infrastructure, a system that handled complex payment processing across multiple African countries with different regulations, currencies, and banking systems. They built it before AI made things easier. That is like being an accountant before calculator or writing was invented.

Beyond writing code, he's one of the most impactful technical builders in African tech. No, he's not back to job hunting. He's a dollar millionaire to begin with. He just needs time to clear his head and build something.

That's the beauty of skills

also funds for startup office, employee management etc

...

That's lots of money. That's where investors need to come in. Bt where will i get investors that i can pitch my idea to ?
Re: Paystack Sacks Ezra Olubi (Their Co-Founder) by SKhanmi: 1:37pm On Nov 24, 2025
Very interesting case. By the way this post is what is called official doublespeak.

We don’t live a black and white country, if he’s truly liquid as he claims. They can create a public impression he would be dealt it whereas just like bob risky , He negotiates with them on the backend and continues to live his life in obscurity.

And if he’s financially intelligent and not the wastrel kind. He can still go on to use fronts to create and own companies. Ruling from the shadows like a lot of wealthy men in this country.

And the public is appeased. Lol.

In a real world, True investigation with credible witnesses would be done and if found guilty, punished appropriately. Because such a person judging by his tweets needs rehabilitation from humans for some time

But Nigeria, smh. Cash is King

By his co-founder and early major investors obviously. If they were sensible he would have been asked to take the CTO position and stay out of the limelight. Eventually, you will see that he will be asked to step down and this should have been done sooner. Period.

He has over 100m dollars in his name! He can decide not to work again in his life.
He is a tech founder, he can always build a product and sell if need be.
He has leadership, technical, entrepreneurial experience, loads of companies in eastern europe would want to hire him asap.

Everything in this life started as an idea. You think the money is your problem?

Let’s use dirt poor yahho boys that cashed out massively as an example. I knew one who was one the first to import a venza into nigeria. He grew up as a tailor son. Made generational money and squandered it.

Whatever methods he used to achieve his goals. Lack of belief in oneself to attain those goals definitely wasn’t one of them.

If you believe you fit do am, Ways go surely open. Money go come. Just be consistent in your line and constantly go for it

On top old tweets, no one has come forward to levy any allegations. How naa?

Well Paystack should be ready for some intense legal battle, which I don’t even think they will win. From where I am seeing this matter, there is nothing concrete, it just seems someone or some persons wants him out to consolidate their position.

If you co-found a company and they're sacking you,it automatically means the company is winding up and assets will be shared.

A co-founder can not be treated like an employee! It's not done!

This is a serious message for those people that enjoy posting rubbish online! Of course, they always believe it's all online and no one knows them or it's nobody's business.

This guy committed these atrocities (or made all those dirt posts) over 15 years ago. Little did he know that they could, one day, come back to hunt him!!

If you sabi post nonsense, go ahead. It's a matter of time, nemesis will catch up with you.

A word, they say,is enough.......
Re: Paystack Sacks Ezra Olubi (Their Co-Founder) by yemre: 1:54pm On Nov 24, 2025
Have you forgotten that some people are so gifted in digging the past of successful people? They want to know the secret of your success and in the process of digging, the moment they come across something they know could bring you down, they will bring it out, just to trend and/or chase clout at times.

Meanwhile, when you were poor and can hard afford a three square meal, none of them would bother investigating your poverty.

Everyone should just be careful because the Internet never forgets.
