Unbelievable

No truthful person who was an adult during the Abacha years - and who was actually in the country - will agree with these comments.

A lot of these comments are grossly, wildly inaccurate. Hankering after some blissful, glorious past that never existed. undecided

The Abacha administration was most definitely not what these posters are making it out to have been. Sani Abacha was a terrible ruler and that's the truth.
what you wrote shows you did not really read trough my comment, i was referring to the physical fitness and strength of professional soldiers then,

i did not in anyway mention how they ran the country after coups. read and comprehend

Sanni Abacha was really one relatively quiet unknown but dangerous coup merchant in the Nigerian army until he sprung up like a sleeper. Naira was best stabilize during his iron-fisted years

I pity you and your nostalgia for a nonsensical leader. The military laid the foundation for the political system that has brought Nigeria Buhari and now Tinubu. The military government created unproductive states and centralised the country. Abacha renamed. Gongola state to Adamawa state (Adama is the name of a Jihadist in the 1800)
What is the relationship between Abacha and Buhari/Tinubu? He didn't handover to obj or Abdussalam talkless of Buhari or Tinubu but here you are blaming him for their regime, in fact Abacha is a good leader because during his time there's no insecurity in the country, it is his intolerant to crime that makes west label him dictator because whoever you are if you commit crime you will be brought to book.
Today here we are the leaders are the sponsors of the criminals terrorizing us, they are Ministers, senators, and so on

At this point I can't say which head of state or regime meant well for us.

Schools like that was by merit, officers trained were indomitable.

All I see now na rubbish
Obj regime handed over power to the civilian. The only regime that didn't take power by force

What kind of nostalgia make people miss poison? Imagine saying Naira was stable during Abacha's tenure? I doubt you witnessed this as an adult at least. Naira had multiple exchanges, and at some point official and black market was over 300% difference.
