Nnamdi Kanu: Sit At Home Continues by gidgiddy(op): 10:03pm On Nov 24, 2025
Residents of Anambra State, particularly in Onitsha and Nnewi, have continued to observe the Monday weekly sit-at-home despite the conviction and imprisonment of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Business activities, schools, banks, hospitals, and government offices remained closed, while roads were largely deserted, reflecting the anger and solidarity of the people with Kanu.

Some residents told Vanguard that the sit-at-home is a voluntary protest by the people of the South East, not enforced by IPOB. They said past claims that IPOB imposed the lockdown were misleading, noting that criminals had previously exploited the protests to commit robberies but vanished when discovered.

Obed Nwachukwu, a resident, said, “Those hoping that markets and businesses will reopen because of Kanu’s imprisonment will have to wait. We are standing in solidarity with him until he is free.”

Another resident, Chief Okwudili Okoye, said, “The Federal Government’s claims and the Abuja Federal High Court’s judgement are unsubstantiated. Monday sit-at-home will continue as a voluntary action in demand for fairness and justice for Ndigbo. Once Nnamdi Kanu regains his freedom, normal activities will resume.”

Residents emphasized that the protest is not about IPOB alone, but a demonstration of solidarity with Kanu and a stand against what they see as lopsided treatment of the Igbo people.

Dora akuyiri husband was killed like a foul because he went and received award for his wife. This man is the genesis of insecurity in south east. He was ranting in court until he was sentenced snd reality done on him.

You people should add both Wednesday and Thursday, ndiara

Same in Imo State, especially Okigwe. No Economic activities on Mondays. Banks don't open, markets are closed. Major roads and streets are always empty.

This is a criminal enterprise masquerading as a protest. The government should investigate and prosecute everyone funding this criminality.

This is nonsensical if true. Why didn’t they vote out Soludo and elect someone who would advocate for Kanu’s release?

This is time for sober reflection, a right thinking of Igbo should extend sit at home from Monday till Wednesday including hunger strike in those three days so for Tinubu to feel it more

Way to go! Nnamdi Kanu was jailed for just preaching the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ on Rafio Biafra.
If this isn’t Christian persecution, then I don’t know what is

You are free to make yourself happy in your own mind. The illusion is only inside your own head and the heads of your followers. However the harsh reality is that Nnamdi Kanu is a convicted terrorist serving a life imprisonment jail term in the harsh sweltering and scorching heat of a Sokoto correctional facility. No amount of self delusion can change that for now. Kanu has 90 days already counting to appeal against that sentencing. In the appeal court he will still meet some of the judges who are elevated to Justices whom he had severally insulted before.
It is only Nnamdi Kanu that knows where his shoes pinch him. No amount of feel good delusion can change that. So gidgiddy, you are free to go ahead and open more propaganda threads. It doesn't remove Kanu from his incarceration.

Just like Kanu stupidly created self inflicted wounds upon himself by his utterances, actions and refusal to open his defense during his trial, his South Eastern followers and sympathizers are choosing to harm themselves to spite a Federal Government that is less affected by any "sit-at-home" protest enforced through the sweat and blood of Igbo sons and daughters.

Who will wake the Igbo from this path of self destructive sleep?

Please sir, who are they killing with the arms? How many people of other region or ethnic group have they killed? Which people are using the weapons to kidnap their people now? The kidnapping is fulani or yoruba they are now kidnapping in South east? If you don't answer me, then know you are worse than a hypocrite. Is Dora akuyiri husband a fulani man?

So you didn't condemn massacre of igbo massacre... Ok that's settled

IPOB picked up arms because

1) the Fulani massacre of igbos in their farmlands was an all time high... Kanu begged igbos governors to form Amotakun equivalent they refused... That lead to the formation of ESN

ESN was formed to keep the igbo farm land safe

2) the unknown gunmen issue is a very complex issue a mix of

a) people revenging people killed by police and army ( when they started it was online targeting military personnel) ... Revenge in the absence of justice is important in igbo culture

b) criminals who took advantage to do rubbish

c) government machineries like Asiri sent to destabilize South East and cause backlash on ESN

d) several other Biafra agitation groups or you think it was only IPOB?

ESN never engaged in the cities not once
