I’m so sorry for how this system has frustrated you, I wish you all the best and most importantly speedy healing for your wife

fastcars0000:
It's really crazy my people, I was the one who got refused with all funds available, in fact I decided to just wait for the spousal sponsorship instead, I had to apply for it just the time it takes was my issue but I have no choice because I had must visit my family.
With how sick my wife was , in fact I nearly lost my 2 years old daughter who is Canadian while the mom when for the final surgery, Anyway I also applied again this time the only thing I didn't submit is my future death certificate. I hope it works this time.
I send over $5000 for house rent and upkeep to them monthly in Canada, it's clear I had no reason to stay there even for a day more. I make good money in Africa, Nigeria is not the only country I do business. I think TRV visas are a No no now, these guys are something else. At the end of the day they still give visas to those who will eventually seek assylum

People’s comment on this platform has really
reduced.

With the genuine and legitimate information I provided, if my assessment was truly based on proper background checks and not influenced by the Nigerian green passport or our current economic situation, I honestly see no reason why my application should be refused.

I have strong ties to Nigeria family, assets, and stable finances. I even applied for just a two-week stay, similar to my recent trips to the UK and Qatar, where I spent only 8 days and 3 days respectively, simply to demonstrate that I am extremely busy in Nigeria and have no intention of overstaying.

I returned to apply again for a Canadian visit visa. Although my family application was refused last year, I decided to apply alone this time with a very solid proof of funds (enough to sponsor a full family trip) and substantial assets.

At this point, it seems that getting a Canadian visa as a Nigerian requires the grace of God unless one has an immediate family member who is a citizen.

This one really surprised me.

When did you apply and how many days did your application take ?
What documents did you submit and what’s your financial situation like ? These are the things they take into consideration

I have a very similar experience with some of the posters being refused Canada visa recently.

I live in the UK, have a valid US visa, have a family here including a child born in the UK, had £16k closing balance on my account, lastly I applied alone hoping to use my family and every other socio-economic status of mine as ties yet I was denied (previously denied six months ago).
I wonder how people get Canadian visas these days. Not bothered.
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by America001: 3:44pm On Nov 25, 2025
I noticed there’s an Officer Decision Notes on the refusal letter. Does this cover for a GCMS note?

Is an Officer Decision Notes same as GCMS notes?
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Nysckits: 5:22pm On Nov 25, 2025
To be candid, nothing was taken into consideration. I have a very strong financial situation that is sufficient for a family trip and it won’t still get rejected if I was in another country . I submitted all the necessary documents and well arranged. 1 submitted landed properties and cars all worth more than 200m , have family here as tie and my application was well detailed.

It took them just 2 weeks to make a decision.

You have a good chance of getting approved. You just need to do your application properly. With a USA visa. Your application won’t even use 2 weeks to get approved. I have handled similar cases like yours. Just reapply and tick all your boxes.

If you need help. You have to be more detailed with what you included in your application.
Did you include a letter of explanation? Did you attach proof of some activities ?
List all what you included and I can advise accordingly.

I entered through Toronto when I went to Canada for the first time and it was smooth. Just answer whatever questions they ask which would most likely be about Howmnay days or weeks you are staying for and sometimes what do you do ?

Hello everyone, I applied for a study permit. My eligibility is already marked as completed, but biometrics and background verification are still showing ‘In Progress’ for weeks. I don't know if anyone experiencing this too? How long did it take for a decision after eligibility was completed and what is my hope?

How long is your application? The standard process time is within 2 month now. I know someone whose application is 2 month and a week already , although they requested for more documentation.

That’s where the problem seems to lie. The prior refusals for the USA were finally approved on reapplication, but the visa has not yet been used to travel to the US, and then there was an immediate application to Canada. This sequence can make it look as if you’re just chasing visas, which could raise concerns about your motives, especially when ties to the UK aren’t strong or you’re not in a highly skilled role. If you haven’t spent many years in the UK, it can appear that you’re aiming to relocate to Canada, with the USA visa as a means to an end to finally get a Canadian visa. It wont help if you also just got the US visa and then went next to Canadian embassy.
Remember although you got the US visa, it does not erase the refusals history nor whatever was the main reason the visa was denied before. Probably the Canadian immigration looked into that and just said nahhh… we can’t bet on this chap.
In my view, the trip to the USA and back, after you’ve actually completed it could help solidify your good intentions.

I received my PPR on November 7, and I submitted my passport to VFS Lagos on November 10. On November 11, I got a notification that it had been sent out, but since then, I haven't received any updates. Please note that I renewed my passport, so it's different from the one I used to apply. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?
Re: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by Desmondola2020: 11:46am On Nov 27, 2025
You just have to wait. They will eventually text you or you can go back to vfs to check if they have returned your passport and you didn’t just get an email. How many days did your application take before it was approved. I think most applications are rejected within 2 weeks.
