Worryingly:
So who is? Why is it that hard to say?
It is better to say you don't know than to lie

Than to say if we don't know it must be an Iboe

The qualification is MRCOG. so check for first 10 Nigerians to get MRCOG with dates

You're ignorant. I will not drop names here. They are old money Yoruba families.

There have been Obstetrician and Gynaecologists here in Lagos and in Abeokuta before even the Igbo crossed path with the Yoruba, got exposed to western education and before the thought of amalgamation of Nigeria was even thought by Lugard. The maternity hospitals in Lagos and Abeokuta were managed by Obstetrician and Gynaecologists of Yoruba extraction. Go to these facilities and you will see their pictures and names wink They will never brag about it.

These Yoruba Healthcare professionals were Yoruba and not Nigerians because Nigeria has not even amalgamated let alone formed as a country.

You start counting your own civilization from when Nigeria was formed but the Yoruba sophistication and western education was like a century ahead of yours and that of Nigeria. They were not even described as Nigerians but Yoruba.

I will not forget to thank Reverend Ajayi Crowther for taking the western education from Lagos and other parts of Yorubaland to the Igboland. This illustrious Nigerian is part of the vision of Reverend Crowther for his people yet Rev. Crowther is not even a Nigerian but Yoruba.

The 1st in Igboland and probably the 1st Igbo Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in defunct Eastern Nigeria wink

As at 1919 when he was born and was just suckling his mother's bosoms,
some Yoruba families here in Lagos and Abeokuta, have already produced qualified Obstetrician and Gynaecologists trained in top British schools. The Amalgamation of Southern and Northern Protectorate that eventually formed what later became Nigeria had not even been done when the Yoruba have produced world-class Obstetrician and Gynaecologists! The old money don't shout wink

Below is a picture of Massey founded in 1912 here in Lagos even before he was born and any Igbo stepped foot in Lagos and become exposed to the western sophisticated civilization and education already existing in Lagos and Abeokuta. This Massey Hospital predates Lord Lugard's amalgamation in 1914 and Nigeria's independence in 1960 as a country and all the professional Healthcare team were Yoruba. Descendants of these Yoruba Healthcare professionals running Massey with the British are still alive till date. They will just be laughing or shaking their heads at the ignorance of false claim that he is the first. It's a fraudulent claim, he's not the first.

The picture of Massey below was in1912 picture o, 7 years before he was born!

There has been qualified Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Yorubaland even before he was born.
First in Nigeria kọ, First in the Solar system ni.

Below is also pictures of Sacred Heart Hospital in Lantoro, Abeokuta founded in 1895 and an archive of University of Glasgow showing 2 Yoruba Medical Doctors graduating from their medical school in 1918 https://universityofglasgowlibrary./tag/james-churchill-vaughan/

Not everyone and especially old money families like to shout. Shouting/Bragging is for new money and awọn "ọmọ oju ori ọla ri" who just hit fame/money.
Yeyeye.....yorubas were educated before the wheel was invented yet the first vice-chancellor of University of Ibadan, the first university in Nigeria was an Igbo man, Professor Kenneth Onwuka Dike.
So where was all your educated people who became graduates before the ice age?

Everything you typed up there doesn't make any sense

One does not produce evidence to dispute a claim

Rather the Claimant produces evidence to substantiate his claim

If you come out to say your grandfather created the universe and I disagree you cannot say I should bring evidence to dispute

That is illogical

The claim can be repeated 100 times will not make it true

Some people claim Nnamdi Kanu is a lawyer if I disagree it is not for me to disprove just ask questions

About where he trained and his qualifications

So with this guy
simple questions

Did he have MRCOG or equivalent qualifications?
Which year did he get it?

Nnamdi Azikiwe as President and Chancellor has prerogative to appoint Vice-Chancellor

It was during this tenure we heard of the first fake DsC scandal in Nigeria at the same University of Ibadan
Another Iboe. OKEYCHUKWU. IKEJIANI. was unearthed as having passed off a fake DsC certificate from Toronto
Azikiwe resisted calls to remove him until the pressure was overwhelming . When removed he was appointed as a physician to the president
So he was a qualified doctor but LIED about a DsC that he didn't have

Another Iboe Chima Igwe paraded a fake PhD from Benin Republic at FIIRO
He was outed eventually
The Minister in charge Ogbonnaya Onu resisted his removal like Azikiwe before him

So there is nothing new about an Iboe doctor inflating his qualifications and claiming to be what he is not

Gynaecologist is a post graduate qualification requiring certification above and beyond MBBS

Many doctors with MBBS alone can develop significant skills of a Gynaecologist but without certificate it is at best HONORARY

In those days most doctors trained in the UK and would require MRCOG which would mark them at the level of a Resident not even a specialist
After which they would gain practical experience

In the US they had a process of BOARD CERTIFICATION

Which route did this guy go

What qualifications did he get to be called a Gynaecologist

What year?
Awarding body?

The greatest damage the civil war did was the mental defeat it instilled in the minds of the losing side.

Till today, they always try to explain their relevance to others and always endeavor to seek acceptance by showing that they are not utterly useless.

And btw, isn't it better to have roofs turned brown because of age than gullies erosion on important roads? Ask yourself....

All these ur ethnic superiority arguments is only making u look like a stark illiterate u can't even argue with established records or proofs to counter the person u are quoting just same old nairaland fairy tales of how yorubas educated primitive easterners. If ur claims of yorubas been the most educated pre independence were really true how come the igbos were able to produce the first vice Chancellors of the universities of ibadan and lagos?
