Side Chicks, Fear! Nigerian Wives Can Now Cash Out From Your Adultery — Legally! by Naijalegal(op): 9:07am On Nov 26, 2025
NIGERIAN WOMEN, GATHER HERE!
You see that side chick stressing your marriage?
You and your children can actually collect LEGIT MONEY from her under Nigerian law!

Yes oh! Under Sections 31 & 32 of the Matrimonial Causes Act, a wife can drag her husband’s side chick to court as a co-respondent for adultery — and the court can award DAMAGES for trying to scatter your home!

And guess what?
That money no be for you alone — you can beg the court to increase the damages for the benefit of your children. Because under Nigerian law, children have the right to grow up in a stable home, not one where side chicks are running up and down causing gbas gbos.

Forget all these side chicks forming “soft life.” Some of them can do anything to destabilize a marriage. ⚠
That’s why the law is very clear:
Don’t just cry. Don’t just pray.
CARRY THEM TO COURT.
Husband + Side Chick = Co-Defendants.
Let the court help you collect your peace and your money.

When courts are calculating damages, they look at the value of the spouse being “stolen” (See Oliver v. Oliver and Scott v. Scott).
Meaning:
You must show the court what you stand to lose if the side chick succeeds — school fees, rent, feeding, holidays… bring all the receipts!
This is how the court knows how much pepper to pour on the side chick.

But hear this part well-well:
You must file your case within 3 years of discovering the adultery.
And you must prove you did NOT condone it.

When the court finally awards you damages?
Just carry the court order to her bank or workplace and seize all her money legally. No shouting. No dragging. Just clean cash.

Nigerian women will rather die in silence than do this. From the court proceedings, the jury will understand why the man chose to cheat.

Sisters, let’s talk like adults for a second.

Yes, the Matrimonial Causes Act technically allows you to sue a side chick for damages (it’s old British law that never got removed).
But in real life, 2025 Nigeria?
Here’s what actually happens when you try:

1 You’ll spend 2-7 years and millions in legal fees chasing someone who has no assets in her name.

2 Most judges will laugh the case out or award ₦200k-₦500k “damages” after you’ve spent ₦5m-₦10m fighting.

3 Your husband (the real problem) will still keep cheating, because the law can’t force love or fidelity.

4 Your children will grow up watching mummy dragging aunty Rose to court on Instagram and newspapers.
That’s the “stable home” you want them to have?

The same energy you want to use to chase side chick, use it to:
• Secure the bag in your own name
• Document everything and file for proper maintenance/child support
• Build yourself to the level where no man can afford to lose you
• Walk if you need to walk (quietly, cleanly, legally)

Chasing side chicks with outdated law is noise.

Securing your future and your children’s future is power.

Collect money from the real source (him), not the symptom (her).

That’s the real flex. 💯

Why going after side chick when you can easily deal with your husband directly. Let stop deceiving ourselves married men are too promiscuous, they are stubborn and doesn't give up in any girl they desire no matter how you try to resist them.

Anyways, your write-up is good but the truth must be told

Money won't do anything to make the woman happyyou also have to prove that the side chick is causing gbas gbos. It's our refusal to embrace the traditional way of life before the British came to scatter our system that is causing the gbas gbos. Because while concubines were available in the past, the honourable thing to do was WIFE HER. Women were protected because they did not want her to be a side chick, she is better off as a wife but una no gree, you say 1 man 1 woman, equality, men are not polygamous by nature, men are scum Cho Cho Cho.

Even in divorce proceedings, you as the lawyer know that the man being able to provide for his family is taken into consideration for custody, so you have a case to prove that the woman outside is causing an unstable house especially where the man is a provider. The law is also not blind to understand that the presence of a father is better than awarding damages. Allow him to wife her, support your sister and stop this.

Women just like deceiving themselves in thinking they are equal to men, no you are not. I have seen some of them say they too can cheat, please do. Abeg cheat with your kids and have 3 different men. Have 2 kids per men and control the men, let's see. Na your eyes go see am grin grin There's a reason why when you watch Nat Geo, men fight for women and women select their mates. A man can always have more than 1, not so for women. If you don't know, some women in the past also enjoyed different relationships. They did not stay with one man for life. That's why it was common to see a woman back then bringing the child from her previous marriage to the new home. That's why some people did not know who was brother or sister until later on because all children belong to us in Africa. They don't want any discrimination. Women say they can cheat if they want to and can explore but they know that's not the way they are built. They are just annoyed they can do the same thing men do but it's also not a free pass for men, it's responsibility.

Women are very controlling. They want everything to themselves. One will tell you she doesn't want her husband all the time, another one will tell you they want him 24/7. They just want to always have their way. Men don't know they are being manipulated. The MANIPULATED MAN.

In other words, the man is an income stream belonging to the wife.

Explains a lot.

It's all about resources. Women want financial security and while they claim marriage is a game for men, it is actually the second employment for men. Men don't realize that they have to work for the marriage to succeed. If they don't, the company has failed. It's easy to talk about men 'using' women in marriages and she sacrifices her life Cho Cho Cho but when you look at the overall picture of the family, the man carries the weight of the home. That's why they say the man buys the house but the woman makes the home. His number 1 duty is to provide. He takes her from her father to house her and provide for her and her co-workers, the kids! This is why women don't like the burden of carrying the responsibilities of the home alone, it's a lot of stress. Thank God more women are now earning more than men, they can now see that it's not just money that men bring to the table to the house.

The Manipulated Man is a 1971 book by author Esther Vilar, originally written in German and translated to English by Eva Borneman.
The main idea behind the book is that women are not oppressed by men but rather control men to their advantage.

Even in an imperfect world, there isn't.

It's our actions and inactions that make our world imperfect, or perfect.

We must stop raising excuses for cheating - whether by a man or a woman.

Does the law forbids husbands from marrying multiple wives?

If it doesn't, then what is your point?

If the wife takes her husband and the side chick(s) to Court in order to claim damages, the husband go just marry the co-defendant(s) and the case is closed.
