Ecowas is a totally useless organization that needs to be disbanded and scrapped, all they will do is condemn and suspend until the next coup. You threatened the Niger coup plotters with military intervention, but all of a sudden you develop cold feet and let the coup plotters call your bluff now here we are country #5 in West Africa experiencing a coup, this is a disgrace and an indictment of that useless organization called Ecowas.
ECOWAS functions like the UN. Member states have to significantly okay a military intervention before soldiers are deployed.

Even though Nigeria is her biggest financier, Tinubu cannot be in Abuja and make decisions for the organisation.... unless he will have to deploy only Nigerian soldiers. Unfortunately, he cannot because Nigeria is battling age-long terrorism.

ECOWAS member states are divided on military intervention because some believe there's a justification in military takeover since France has oppressed and looted from those countries for decades. So, it's not a disgrace; this is just reality playing out.

Which election is he observing? An election without opposing Parties. Is that an election?

I don't care..
Read somewhere that when the Americans and the British were pressuring him to hand over to the APC, they promised to allow him enjoy much visibility when out of office through roles like this.

Essentially, he was promised that he will be allowed to be moving around as "election observer" and "conflict mediator" around Africa, and this made him comfortable enough to hand over the whole country to the janja-we-ed party..

Nigerian rulers see the opportunity of moving around as "elder statesmen" after office as some kind of "glorious ending" to their uncharitable years in office..
Jonathan was beaten black and blue in the 2015 election so your suggestion is flawed he had not option than to leave office as stipulated in the constitution

Yes, it's still worthy of being observed. Someone has to have a firsthand experience before writing a damning report.

That's why foreign election observers always criticise Nigerian elections. You have to observe it first. Nigerian officials observe elections in the US and Europe too.

So you are advocating for coup because your lord and saviour Peter Obi didn't win election.
Thankfully because I fears if he was president an impeachment or coup would have been inevitable

Abeg leave story, they wanted to send soldiers but the Niger coup plotters called their bluff and they chickend out. Senegal, Ivory Coast were all ready to contribute troops but for whatever reason they developed cold feet

He was not a sit tight, this was his second term reelection, how is that a sight tight. The president of Mali was not a sit tight, that of Niger was not a sit tight, Burkina Faso was not a sit tight and they were all overthrown. Only the guy in Guinea Conakry was going for a 3rd term against the constitutional 2 terms. The real problem is a bunch of adventurers in uniform who also wanted to be President have nothing to do with sit tight.
You obviously didn't study the events that led to this Bissau coup, if not you wouldn't post what you posted. It's not simple about second term but how you get there. It must be credible. You heard how he turned his country to a one party state, literally using state security agencies to persecute opposition. It was exactly what Tinubu is doing in Nigeria today. Or was it how the Bissau president used international drug cartels to fund and compromise the elections? You think other countries are foolish and docile like Nigerians to tolerate these kind of anomalies and shit being perpetrated in the country? Their military are not as docile and weak as the Nigerian military. You think these other countries in Africa would tolerate half of the shit you guys swallow from your govt in Nigeria? Please Go back and study the events leading up to the coup. The Bissau military just found the perfect avenue to take over and it was perfectly handed into their hands. I see the same fate befalling Nigeria soon.

It is a gradual process, the West African bloc is one by one creeping back to the hands of the Military as it was in the late 20th century. The Black man cannot peacefully rule himself, the concept of democracy looks alien to them, they cannot accept it except it is a twisted democracy where his choice is always the majority choice. We are so crude, uniformed, so illiterate, so greedy to build a decent life for ourselves and Generation unborn

This makes no sense. You believe someone gave up the Nigerian presidency for a chance to gallivant around Africa forming statesman?

That'd cost them dearly. They won't try it. There's no benefit for them to derive from that anyway.

Don't mind these dictatorship lovers who say all sorts of lies to justify military coups. The fact is that apart from Gabon, all the recent coups in Africa had nothing to do with sit tight. Some kids in uniform want to be president and can't wait to go through an election, so they just take it.

I disagree with your assertion that Ecowas member states have to significantly okay military intervention. How can a country with military rulers agree on that.

Those juntas should allow foreigners who came for election observing mission to return to their home countries so they don't incur their countries' wrath. How can you trap a former Nigerian president in your insignificant country?
You're not smart.
Military service and ways you have no idea how they operate.

Is Goodluck Jonathan from Guinea Bissau? He is everywhere outside Nigeria looking for elections to monitor when there's so much flaws and frauds in our own elections and electoral process. Let him stay there a little longer, hopefully Jonathan will stay one place and stop all the ajala travels.

Only a useless and clueless man dey chase rats 🐀 when his house 🏠 is on fire 🔥
