The stupid senator was voiceless when people in his constituency and beyond were forced to sit at home on Monday. He had no sense if justice when Poeple were being killed, haunted and intimidated in the name of "Maazi Nnamdi Kanu". He had no identity when security officers were being killed by his "freedom fighter". He now regained his voice when his Maazi is paying for his crime. Bunch of opportunistic idiots! |

Razzness:You are funny. Why is south east the only region with only 5 states? While other regions have 6 and 7 states?...this means less representation in the senate and house of reps. Less allocation from the Federation account. E.t.c Why is no refinery sited in the southeast despite having the most viable crude oil? Why do south east children need to score 150 to gain admission into unity schools while the some part of the North only need to score 9? Why is it that when criminals kill any security personnel in the southeast the army will retaliate by killing innocent people and burning down villages and towns but does not deploy the same strategy for other parts of the country. Why does the southeast the most policed and most militarized region in Nigeria? Why does southeast states receive the least allocation from the Federation monthly allocation Make I stop here first. The good thing is that the present generation of Easterners don't want to just seat and complain, they don't want to just complain, they are tired of being victims. |

Razzness:Ok You sound Utopian. How do we achieve unity when there is ethnic bigotry and nepotism? See the President's appointments. It's lopsided. Virtually all all appointments in the hands of Yorubas. It's state capture. You oppress other segments of the society because you are in power and careless. You destroy their wares and investments under phoney building plans policies. How do you expect unity under such nebulous plans? We restructure or go out separate ways. |

So which of the Igbo states is too big? Land wise or population wise there are states in Nigeria that are much bigger than all the Igbo states yet they have 3 senators like the Igbo states. How is that being unfair, do you want the government to create more states out of thin air in the south east. In the core South East, only abia State has substantial oil reserve and before oil was discovered there refineries have already been built in neighbourig states of Delta and Rivers. So would it not be prudent to transport the crude oil there instead of building a refinery abia. Moreover, what are the refineries in Nigeria doing, absolutely nothing. South Eastern schools have more competitions, while nothern schools have low applicants that why their cut off mark is lower. It simple logic, not because the schools don't like Igbos. IPOB has gone scot free after burning a police station in abia, and have repeatedly attacked police and soldiers in other states without any consequence. South East is the most militarized region ke, have you been to Borno, Benue, Yobe and Other states. South East have higher FAAC allocation than North east and north central, so what are you saying. The new generation of Nigerians, understand that they are not victims, they will let go of the grudges that have held us back and work towards building a better country. shortgun: |

shortgun:You'll need to change your mindset and understanding and approach your regions issue differently..... (1) FACC is not calculated based on number of States in a region and shared amongst them and the number of States in a region and number of representation does not translate to better living standards of their people and meaningful development in that region and individual States. (2) When was oil found in the South East for commerce purpose because all the Nigerian refineries were built by the military regime and I'm not even sure your born when the last one was built ? (3) Apart from the North, I don't think the South East is the only one having to score 150 before their children are given admissions into unity school. Nevertheless, we have not heard that the representatives from that region have complained about it.......there what is called boycott? I hope you know notable figures for.the South East school in the North? My only question for you is that, the South East is the only indigenous region that the people have a single language yet there's no unity amongst them... why? Are you going to blame who? |

shortgun:Let us be realistic. Why should SE have six states? Lagos or Kano have more population than the SE. The SE is the least populated zone and the next zone NE after it has like 170 percent of it's population. If 55 million people in the SW have six governors and eighteen senators while 23 million people in the SE have five governors and fifteen senators, who has been shortchanged?. If you want to know the population check the publicly available NIN registration data. On a per Capita basis the SE has the highest number of states in the country and thereby the highest representation in government made so by the military. The SE is around ten percent of Nigeria's population and they should ordinarily have ten percent of whatever is being shared in the country including states, ministers and etc but I believe states should be given on demand but they should not be made equal. The revenue of a state is indicative of the population and in a fair country it should determine representation in government |

Razzness:1.political representation has nothing to do with land size. It is about equal political representation. Every state big or small in Nigeria has 3 senators. So southeast with fewer states automatically have less representation, less political bargaining power and fewer federal allocations tied to the number of states. North West: 7 states → 21 senators South East: 5 states → 15 senators This is a permanent structural disadvantage! Representation is not calculated by land size; it’s calculated by number of states—and the South East has the lowest. The point is that all regions were created politically, not naturally and the South East’s demand for balanced state creation is legitimate 2. Nigeria intentionally concentrated refineries and other oil infrastructures in certain regions because of political power distribution, not geography or efficiency. If transporting crude is more prudent, why then did Nigeria build refineries in far away North (Kaduna), which has zero oil and requires pipelines running across the country? Without building one in the southeast which has crude oil and gas reserves? The prudence argument collapses immediately...the only reason a refinery was built in kaduna was to give the North a sense of belonging. Why is it taking the government of Nigeria this long to address this obvious inequality. 3. For schools cut off mark. High competition isn’t the problem. The problem is that the federal government santioned cut-off system that penalizes high-performing regions instead of expanding capacity and rewarding them, a system that punishes merit and rewards mediocrity is an anomaly! Places with lower demand get preferential thresholds, which guarantees unequal intake and opportunity. If the North has low applicants, that’s all the more reason to invest more in basic education there, not to suppress merit in competitive regions and kill the dreams of Igbo children which traumatize many of them forever. How exactly do you explain to a kid that their high score after rigorous studying is not enough to get them admission in the same school were kids from other regions don't even need to lift a finger for the same opportunity? 4. In the case of IPOB, no region has paid with the bloods of it's people for the actions of few like the southeast. The atrocities Nigerian security personnels committed in the name of fighting IPOB in the southeast can only be equated to war time wickedness. Many innocent Igbo people who had no business with IPOB have been killed and labeled IPOB There was Mass arrests There was Military raids Illegal Detentions Fighter jets were deployed to bomb villages. Young teenage girls were labeled IPOB and turned to sex slaves. Entire communities were touched by security officers. Every Igbo person is regarded as IPOB member Numerous killings of civilians wrongly labeled as IPOB/ESN. Worse still, the government did not investigate any of the killing of the innocent people which speaks volumes. Meanwhile, other violent groups—Boko Haram collaborators, bandits, herdsmen militias have received negotiations, reintegration programs, and in some cases state-backed pardons. So saying IPOB gets special freedom is misleading 5. Militarization: You are Comparing Apples to Oranges Saying “Go to Borno or Yobe” as proof that the South East isn’t militarized oversimplifies the matter. Yes, the Northeast hosts the military because it is an active warzone. But the question is different: Why does the South East without an active insurgency even before IPOB have the highest densities of checkpoints and federal security operations in the country? Do you know security officers pay huge bribes to the superiors to be posted to the southeast? Because of the money they'll illegally make from the people of the southeast? A region with no declared war shouldn’t be treated like a war zone under siege. 6. The push for fairness is not a victim mentality. Demanding structural balance is the foundation of every stable federation worldwide. You cannot build national unity by telling one region to forget legitimate historical and political disadvantages. Unity is only achieved by: Correcting systemic imbalances Ensuring equal political voice Distributing national opportunities fairly Equality Requires Honesty Nigeria cannot move forward by pretending the system treats everyone the same. The South East’s concerns are rooted in the undeniable mathematics of Nigerian federalism. A country that seeks unity must first seek fairness. And fairness begins with acknowledging the imbalance, not dismissing it. Our fathers endured this shameless, daylight injustice because the Nigerian state and it's collaborators took advantage of the peaceful nonchalant nature of the Igbo man to cheat him out in everything. But this generation, we don't have the patience of our fathers and will not sit quietly and continue to absorb disrespect. We’re not begging anymore, we are not waiting, or pretending anymore. We will take back control of our future and make sure our children never inherit this engineered injustice. If we don't do it nobody will do it for us |

shortgun:Just be honest with yourself, before Operation Python Dance started and before any protesters were killed, Nnamdi Kanu has been inciting violence through his radio Biafra broadcasts. He has a right to agitate for Biafra but they way he was doing the agitation was terribly wrong. The federal government made a mistake by killing innocent people but Nnamdi Kanu is also responsible for the mayhem because of his violent style of agitation. When IPOB was beating up people not complying with the sit-at-home order is the federal government also responsible for that? You can't fight the federal government of a nation. If you kill security personnel as revenge you will only end up making the situation worse. Security forces will come in again and kill more people. How does that solve any problem? |

shortgun:State creation if states are equal should be based on population and the SE has like 80 percent of Lagos population according to NIN data. Why should SE have the same number of states as the SW with more than double the population or NW with more than triple? States should be for whoever wants it but they should not be deemed equal |

Nefort:I am from the South East and I have firsthand knowledge of IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu’s actions. I have timelines of all the events and what led to what. Many people like yourself probably don't know that IPOB was established way back in 2012 and they were never involved in any violence, they only carry flags, hold loud rallies. Nnamdi Kanu himself warned all members of IPOB against all acts of violence. From 2012 to 2019, Nnamdi Kanu never called for violence, he never insulted Nigeria. It was only in 2020 that he began the incitement, referring to Nigeria as a zoo and calling for members to arm themselves especially against fulani militia. This escalation came after the federal government, through the military, had killed many innocent Igbo youths, carried out Operations Python Dance 1 and 2, unlawfully arrested and detained Nnamdi Kanu, invaded his house even after a court granted him bail, and killed his parents, while also proscribing IPOB as a terrorist organization. Note that Nnamdi Kanu was first arrested in October 2015 by the Nigerian government. The reasons behind this arrest were not for terrorism but was tied to his activism with IPOB and his use of Radio Biafra to broadcast separatist messages. He was charged with treasonable felony. Even the sit-at-home orders you mention were a direct response to the unlawful arrest and detention of Nnamdi Kanu. They were a form of protest by IPOB demanding his release. If the government had not acted in such an oppressive and provocative manner, there would have been no sit-at-home. Many believe that the way the government handled Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB was deliberately designed to provoke unrest in the South East and to justify the further killing of innocent people. You cannot expect Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB members, or the innocent Igbo youths executed by the Nigerian state to feel anything other than resentment toward a country that treated them in this way. Today, Igbo youths avoid the Nigerian military like a plague. They don’t enlist and show no solidarity because the military has made itself the enemy of the Igbo people. Today, we can all see the result in the current state of the military, its deterioration and lack of credibility. |
