Dear Mr. President, This is a letter addressing the existing insecurity in Nigeria and I would like to use this medium to highlight four main action-solutions that may solve this problem: 1. Mass-sacking and recruitments into the the Military, Police Force and Government agencies only after a comprehensive personality test and multiple investigations. 2. Mass-arrest of fraudulent citizens by visual identity. 3. Major construction of maximum prisons nationwide for newly convicted criminals. 4. Importation and the release of wild animals into all forests areas nationwide with prior notice. MASS-SACKING AND RECRUITMENT STRATEGY: The recruitment process into the Nigerian Civil Service, should be based 80% on rigorous personality tests to select "good willing" applicants for any office and all existing civil servants to be assessed the same way in order to eliminate compromising staff. This helps remove the bad eggs from the good ones - and this, will reduce government sabotage, bribery and corruption. MASS ARREST OF PERSONS OF QUESTIONABLE CHARACTER STRATEGY: Any person that resembles a fraudulent individual by appearance or by character be it their attitude, behavioural patterns should be paraded often - this will reduce the mobility of such persons. All government officials and corporate employees, that look richer than their default status or live in areas above their legitimate means, should be investigated often by the crime's commission. This is not a re-introduction of police harassment but a removal of crime perpetrators and crime financiers from society. CONSTRUCTION OF MULTIPLE MAXIMUM PRISONS NATIONWIDE STRATEGY: The government should begin the construction of maximum prisons nationwide to house the multitude of arrested criminals. This reduces prison congestion and prison breaks of which in the long run, makes detaining of criminals more seamless. This strategic move will reduce of all forms of crime in the society and keep them where they ought to be "The Prisons". IMPORTATION AND RE-INTRODUCTION OF WILD LIFE INTO THE NIGERIAN FORESTS NATIONWIDE STRATEGY: The return of wildlife into Nigerian forests, will minimize terrorists activities in Nigerian unmanned forests nationwide. This does not only reduce insecurity in the country, but also restores the wildlife habitat long gone. Proper notice should be given to the general public on areas where the wildlife would exist. This move may force terrorist to flee forest areas with their hostages thereby displacing them and making them more visible. These strategic points sums the general idea of hiring the right people into government and letting go of the wrong people to aid government policy efficiency and the reduce the activities of criminals in society that pose a harm physically and mentally to citizens. These strategies will likely be compromised by certain government employees but a probable way to not allow this happen, is to FIRST AND FOREMOST, begin these highlighted strategies in all government agencies from the lowest rank officials to the highest rank officials and by doing so, "compromise", "sabotage", "terrorism" and "corruption" will be reduced drastically making the implementation of these strategies non-negotiable. If after this implementation, media reports are still the same (negative) nationwide over a period of four years with no significant difference, then a sole-admin computer systems should be deployed for such task and scapegoats be made after independent investigations by high-profile security agencies and with the help of verified media outlets. All the strategies proposed are not feasible. |
| Re: An Open Letter To The President Of Nigeria Concerning Insecurity by kayjordan(op): 2:29pm On Nov 27, 2025 |
No strategy is feasible if not tried. By your suggestion that these strategies wouldn't work is like condemning Nigeria to scrap metals that can never be mended or straightened. HgAkpobomeEr: |

These solutions are quite innovative, especially the wildlife preservation strategy. |

I appreciate your comment. "The enemies need enemies" . Nigerian soldiers don't have animal instincts like great sense of smell. Although this is a crazy idea - it "might" just be what we need with proper consultation. trutharena: |

Well written, but you cannot sabotage your own standards. Sadly the president belongs to the class of politicians who would never allow the police function independently, answerable only to their code and the Nigerian constitution. Sadly, DSS/police is used to carry out extrajudicial acts and as such have been conditioned to act selectively. Someone’s son abuses the NANs president with the help of the police, on what grounds did the police act? He Tinubu should lead by example, revisit past cases of police brutality through the courts, demand accountability from officers through body cams, give the citizens oversight duties to report ills. Take security votes from governors and pay police a decent salary, with robust benefits. If the cities are safe convoys will reduce. |

I understand your points. Many good willed people (Leaders) too aren't perfect - one can only hope for the better devil amongst all devils to do a better job. The government should indeed pay the security agents well to make Nigeria safe but you must acknowledge longer timing for that. Baxilexi: |

This writer should be made the Minister of Defence. I think he has figured out what we need to do to curb insecurity. I particularly love the idea of importing wild animals. |

I appreciate the political appointment comment. The forest really needs to be a home for wildlife and not hostages. odejimioflagos: |

Where are the wildlife supposed to be relocated to going to? |
| Re: An Open Letter To The President Of Nigeria Concerning Insecurity by kayjordan(op): 5:48pm On Nov 27, 2025 |
I've heard of Sambisa forest where the Chibok school girls were kept and many other uninhabited forests areas in the northern part of nigeria that have been mentioned in recent times ; these are the areas the wildlife should be if I got your question right and if you meant "where should wildlife be relocated to going forward", I would say "No where". That way, hidious places like jungles will become a danger zone to bandits and terrorists. Salewa97: |

kayjordan:Nigerians are unaware of our true financial strength as a nation. To overhaul the police force is a year’s project. Redirect funds for the coastal highway and other white elephant projects towards security. This isn’t just about weapons but intelligence. Sign a contract with Musk, subscribe for security intel, Get weaponized drones Install AI public cameras in high alerts states Ensure every Nigerian has their NIN, printing 150 million cards (adult population) would take less than 4 months; anyone caught without this will be jailed Link the NIN to everything; home address, bank account, school info, hospital info The list goes on and on but as I said, Tinubu belongs to the class of politicians that hate transparency. Trump holds live press sessions for all meetings, he doesn’t mind goofing but he’s upholding a standard, demystifying the White House and giving Americans a greater sense of agency over how they’re led. The opposite is what we’ve got here, media houses speculating or given a script to present. Worse off media boys working overtime. Is Tinubu willing to let law and justice prevail? Good begets good, evil begets evil, every tree bearing fruits after its kind. |

Good suggestions but they will never be implemented. |
| Re: An Open Letter To The President Of Nigeria Concerning Insecurity by kayjordan(op): 11:06am On Nov 28, 2025 |
Funding government operations is expensive and many people don't believe due to what they consume. NIN identity cards are quite effective at solving the problem but with an active database system. Tinubu's transparency level is debatable and the speculative media is speculative due to legal sanctions that is common globally. Baxilexi: |

As i replied a commenter in this thread - it may or may not work if the government does nothing about it. ModupeoreMs: |
