@Otipoju

I appreciate your further CLARITY and insightful feedback here.

About that alleged coup plot and the subsequent denials by the Federal Government and the Military spokesperson, there are indeed times when Intel is withheld from the public all over the world. BUT it would also be to the benefit of the current Nigerian President 'Bola Tinubu to ensure that there is prompt daily and/or communication updates with the public starting from Tinubu himself to his media aides.
NOT doing so gives room for FALSE rumors and disinformation by non-state actors (such as these paid ipob troll farms who the "BBC Global Disinformation Team" investigative video report on ipob's campaign of toxic hate speech and massive online disinformation, revealed in 2022 were recruited with salaries, free laptops and free monthly internet data given to recruited trolls in their thousands to spread toxic hate and online disinformation) via rogue YouTube channels and other social media platforms like FB, X, (and even NL) since 2014.

President Tinubu MUST learn to ALWAYS communicate directly with Nigerians living in the Motherland and in the Diaspora (via TV and
YouTube at least once a week just like Obama used to do instead of just clamming up about issues or using his media aides to channel his thoughts to Nigerian folks).

Second, I totally agree with you about these cases of alleged political corruption by past Governors and politicians dating back to the OBJ years. Nigeria is a country that has an enervating judicial system and It's NOT rocket science to FULLY digitize their court operations to fast-track court cases. Just like President 'Bola Tinubu and his team have done well by unbundling the Nigerian insurance sector to take advantage of the full gamut of benefits that global insurance has to offer, and the power generation to was removed from the exclusive list to the concurrent list to enable States to now build power stations and generate electricity, the judiciary is one ecosystem that requires FULL unbundling and use of virtual conferencing, computerization/the use of AI technologies in dispensing criminal justice because the EFCC complained as well that the Judges have a lot of workloads and that has slowed the cases of some of these politicians in court down.

Cheers.
Concerning the paid trolls. I think it is used by ALL political actors. The first time we publicly saw it was in the ousting if Jonathan when APC showed us their media center with staff on rotations to he online all the time to push narratives.

They boasted about it and I think any serious political actor will try to do the same.

There are many on both sides and I can easily spot them by the recency of their monikers, the type of names they use, the frequency of their posts, the limited scope of their posts, thier dogmatic repitition of the same line of thought, and their unwillingness to engage in reasonable discussions.

I have been a nairalander since it's very early years. In two years time I'll be twenty years on this forum so I know the trends.

I am addicted to nairaland.com that's why I visit everyday to keep abreast with what is going on in Nigeria.

Nairaland has changed from an intellectual playground to a propaganda battleground.

Personally, I've never really liked any government right from the days of Obasanjo. So i think i am anti establishment because ive akwats felt that government can really do more abd nigerians have no business with poverty considering the stupendous anounts of resources we have.

There have been a few decent administrators across all parties. Fashola, Ambode even garrulous Nyesom Wike,Buba Marwa,Peter Obi but they also pilfered ( to put it nicely) even though they built infrastructure and tried to do something for the people.

As much as I did not like Jonathan, Buhari was the worst ever because he has no regard for human life . Tinubu as much as I dont really like him as a democrat because he really is an autocrat, he will be bold enough to make institutional changes and strong enough to clip the wings of dissenters.

Eg....state policing, subsidy removal, banning of open grazing.

Hopefully one day, we will get a leader whose primary focus will be bringing benefits to the people.

I am always on the side of the people...even though they are also not really different from their leaders.

From your posts I know you are very learned and perhaps connected to the presidency.

I really wish Nigeria well and to be able to be respected in the committee of nations.

Below is news reports on later happened to the money..

https://realnewsmagazine.net/mahdi-shehu-exposes-why-nia-dg-resigned/

After Ayo Oke told the panel total money was even more and Mongono was aware of it...
In came Amb. Mohammed Dauda for only 3 months...he claimed his refusal to pay Kingigbe $2m bribe was why the cleric and panel secretary.

Then Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, was used to replace him as NIA boss. He played ball.

Abubakar resigned sighting family issues once Tinubu came in...they have been using security to loot for long.
