Obnoxious2001:not really. Accoridng to client, they want to sell electrocis of different kinds with option of downPayments - where they pay an agreed amount till the costs complete and should they default, the item would be remotely disAbled and if they still don'tt respond, it gets Repossessed |

bassdow:Lols. I hear you and your fellow ancients of days. You were not the only ones who used stuffs like that too. We lived in that generation too, and it does not qualify us to be an all-knowledgeable person that you cannot even accept any divergent argument, views or opinion. If it actually comes to that point where you tell people how great you are, you were never great to begin with. |

sirneyo2005:When buying cells, ask the seller to balance the cells for you before shipping. If not done by the seller, fully charge the cells in series and reconfigure again in parallel for few hours or days to naturally balance out without the help of an adjustable charger. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by sirneyo2005: 9:03am On Nov 28, 2025 |
Thanks but I just connected in parallel without charging is there any side effect to that dollarnaira: |

harbayyoungesth:Valto valto, correct person. Have 4 of his batteries, 1 clocked 2 years in Aug, another is 18mths already and the last 2 a year old. He's also very easy to communicate with and ask questions. Wud recommend again and again. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Tdoctor(m): 10:35am On Nov 28, 2025 |
sirneyo2005:No link. Bought in the market 800x600x270 electrical cabinet, taking into considerations the dimensions of sixteen 314ah cells. I have reconnected my lead acid back. I'm allowing the bms to balance the cells, so the LFP is just balancing. When they cells are within a good range, I will reconnect the LFP. I don't have the energy to disconnect the cells and top balance them. |

sirneyo2005:na the side effect You or the person who newly built his battery bank is facing. Mind you, this ain't limited to just Lithium batteries. It's same for all battery chemistries. Even to connect 4pcs of Tubular or SLA batteries, most times you need do balancing before connecting them together. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 10:50am On Nov 28, 2025 |
sirneyo2005:should in case you find it difficult getting a casing, you could just meet any welder, ask them where you could buy (New or Used) metal plates. Buy the required thickness (tell them what you intends doing with them and they would recommend you a suitable thickness); give the job to a welder to create the casing to your liking. That's if you're scared of using wood. Mind you, building a high capacity battery such as the kind done by @tDoctor isn't recommeded for everyone as some sort of prior knowledge is required. No go create wahala while trying to save pennies. |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Tdoctor(m): 11:46am On Nov 28, 2025 |
bassdow:- I agree. When I started, I did not know much, but have learnt a lot over time. There are things to consider when building a high power battery: 1. Cable size 2. Busbar 3. Protection (breakers) |
| Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by bassdow: 11:53am On Nov 28, 2025 |
Tdoctor:I made that comment because most people are too lazy to acquire knowledge. That you were able to get this far, doesn't mean most people are willing to. Even when they call me, and I try to give them idea on how to arrive at such result so they could think for themselves, they get impatient or feign out of airTime or whatever. They mostly just want to be spoonFed with the end result. One of the reasons recently, if you asking for any sort of help, I mostly favour those calling via GSM and utilizing their airTime + I still fit no too get your time unLike before. Sending me whatsApp messages means you just might get a response to post in relevant threads as whatsApp na for paying clients. Mind you, Primary aim of DIY shouldn't necessarily be to save money always. Except of course, you got lots of parts lying around. As I dey so, I get bako sacks of scraps which might look useLess to othhers BUT very useful to me. |

sirneyo2005:What is the initial voltage of each before parallel? Charging each full first is the best option to me. |

capnies:how would you feel if I use multiple accounts to claim I have ? most times, you're to focus on those that are known already. Let the unKnown ones do the heavy work of getting users to use them. Yea I know you could play smart by checking the person's past posts BUT when smart person wan do fraud / lie, e suppose lay the foundation hence you go seek and you go see convincing results. |

3.27,3.27,3.20,3.33 also the are new cells I haven't used them since I got them I just left them in the pack also I believe with the knowledge I have gotten here and YouTube videos coupling it won't be an issue. Concerning cable I have prepared 25mm to be used in connecting the bms, 2by 10mm awg will be used from panel to a 50amps breaker would have used a 63amps breaker but charge controller is 60amps dollarnaira: |

Dreamhans1:High volume water availability is the core of one of my business activities I used and sold Chinese solar submersible water pumps too (posted and sold some here on nairaland) With adequate panels and solar water pump, you can fill a 2000 liters tank in 1 hour and if you don't have an inverter, the power generated by the panels will be wasted after your tank is filled. I doubt you can use up the water at the rate it get pumped. I suggest you get the typical panels+battery+inverter setup and use a regular 220v AC sub. pump. Your battery secures you on cloudy days, you can power other appliances with your inverter and repair/replacement of an AC pump is easily accessible. If your budget is insufficient, tidy up the specs and capacity of the components you need and wait till you can afford them. |
