Fake IGRs , does it reflect in their states, why are their state governors borrowing if they have such high figures? Its because they re are audio figures. |

Nonsense. Not that they are economically creative & productive in the real sense of it. But these 'Government-bandits' squeezes the necks of poor- low income earning Nigerians in the name of Taxes to generate the so called IGR that will not translate to anything meaningful to the welfare of the citizenry... |

yarimo:IGR doesnt equate to HDI in many of these states, there is nothing on ground to justify the huge IGR we are reading e.g Ogun state. that state claim to generate so much, yet the loan they borrowed, they couldn't pay. federal govt have to step in. that is why their FAAC is the least. No development, couldn't pay debt. so where is the IGR going into if it is not AUDIO |

Honestly, there isn't a real increase in IGR when factored against inflation and the depreciation of the naira over the period under review. In fact, there was actually a decline in Nigeria's real IGR during the period under review. The Naira exchanged with the US dollar at an average rate of ₦635 per dollar on the black market in 2023. While in 2024 the Naira exchanged at and average of ₦1,486 per dollar in the black market. This simply implies that the Naira depreciated a whooping 134℅ on average, over the period under review. Thus, the 2.426 generated in 2023 will be valued at 5.677 trillion in 2024. So, Nigeria generating 3.633 trillion in 2024 is actually a decline in real IGR when compared to the 2.426 trillion of 2023. To make this even more lucid, we'll have to multiply the 2.426 trillion of 2023 by the exchange rate as at 2023 and compare. With an average exchange rate of N635, 2.426 trillion will be 3.820 billion dollars While with the exchange rate of 1,486 per dollar of 2024, the 3.633 trillion generated in 2024 will be 2.444 billion dollars. So, in reality, there is nothing to celebrate because there was actually a decline of 1.376 billion dollars in Nigeria's IGR during the period under review. |

For Kaduna and Kano, if you are into government activities very well you have to applaud the the IRS Chairman Dr. Zaid Abubakar. He was the formal Kaduna State IRS Chairman and he oversees the astronomical IGR growth in Kaduna under Elrufai. Like a football star, after the tenure of Elrufai, Kano state quickly snatched him over, now he is repeating the same performance in Kano state. While his legacy is in Kaduna is making progress. Dr. Zaid Abubakar is a tax genius. I only pity Kaduna for not keeping him |
