Bandits Attack 18-Seater Bus On Osokoko–Obajana Road In Kogi, Kidnap Passengers by Maxymilliano(op): 12:44pm On Nov 28, 2025
One of the buses was successfully attacked, while the second managed to escape.

Bandits have launched an attack along the Osokoko–Obajana axis in Kogi State.

According to sources, two commercial 18-seater buses were targeted during the incident.

One of the buses was successfully attacked, while the second managed to escape.

The exact number of kidnapped passengers remains unknown at this time, though eyewitness confirmed that all those on board the intercepted bus were taken by the attackers, a local medium, Egbe Mekun Parrot reports.

A source revealed that Nigerian Army personnel arrived shortly after the incident and engaged the band!ts in an attempt to repel the assault.

The military response led to the video earlier circulated online, showing travellers waiting on the highway until soldiers fully cleared the road.

SaharaReporters earlier reported that bandits reportedly launched an attack along the Osokoko–Obajana road on Thursday afternoon, sparking panic among residents and travellers in the area.

According to eyewitnesses, the situation unfolded suddenly, with assailants attempting to block and raid vehicles along the route.

Residents have since warned motorists to avoid the road until security forces secure the area.

In a video circulating online, a woman confirmed that the threat had been neutralised, saying, “Road don clear, all thanks to the Nigerian Army, everybody don dey go back.”

Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the incident, but eyewitnesses confirmed that soldiers deployed to the area successfully repelled the bandits, preventing any reported casualties or loss of property.

The attack highlights the continuing security challenges along key routes in Kogi State, where travellers frequently face threats from armed gangs.

SaharaReporters previously reported that Kiri High School in Aiyetoro Kiri, Kabba Bunu Local Government Area of Kogi State, came under attack in the early hours of Wednesday, November 26, 2025, when bandits stormed the community.

According to information confirmed to Egbe Mekun Parrot, members of the Kiri Vigilante Group quickly mobilised to confront the assailants, successfully rescuing all students who had been abducted during the incident.

Community sources confirmed that no student remains in captivity, thanks to the swift and coordinated response of the local security team.

However, the operation came at a tragic cost, with one vigilante killed while defending the community, and a resident reporting that a Hausa man also lost his life.

The attempted abduction in Kogi State comes amid a wave of mass kidnappings across Nigeria’s north-central region, where more than 400 people, mostly schoolchildren, have been seized since around mid-November, drawing condemnation from the United Nations and global religious leaders.

It's unfortunate that the terrorists Apc created to oust Jonathan out of power is now fighting the same people that created them.

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked, whatever a man sow is what he will reap.

Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not go unpunished.

I said it it in my previous post as far back as October 24 Last Month that it won't be business as usual, people insulted me and called me all sorts of names. I then told them to watch out as events unfold. What is happening now. Tinubu seems to have woken up from his sleep. But it a little too late.

God has chosen someone else that will solve the myriads of the problems and challenges bedeviling this nation and take this country to the promise land come 2027.

A Prophet has spoken.
Rubbish.

There is a band in Africa across which those terrorists operate.

They are encroaching and need to be routed at once.

Yoruba have abandoned their KOGI cousins.

That is how they supported army killing people in itsekiri, uhrobo, isoko. That is how they say IGBOs are the problem.

Why are Yoruba on all IGBO related affairs, but don't talk when it happens to them or their relatives from other regions.

In Kwara State, it's already occupied and conquered. Same applies to others and they avoid those threads like ebola virus.

IGBOs know your enemies.

I love what you said. They should be routed at once. That is the job of Tinubu. That was why he was elected as president for God's sake. That is why he is the commander in chief. But it is obvious he is incompetent.

Let him resign and give room for someone fit and capable to flush out these terrorists from our soil and protect the lives of its citizens

Still playing politics.

This requires regional action and lots of innocent people, unfortunately would have to be unalived in the process.

Can you remember in 2014 when Tinubu held Jonathan responsible for the security challenges during his tenure even telling him to resign.

He should do the needful

Your useless minister of defense said that the reason why the Nigerian Airforce can't bomb the bandits is that because the forest is too thick. That's a defence minister! An utter embarrassment.
He hasn't heard of cluster munitions that were created for just such purposes. Or high explosives and defoliation chemicals that can clear thickly forested areas.
Excuses for incompetence and failure that's all the APC knows. The party is a sick embarrassment.
