So, I landed in Ottawa, Ontario on 1st July and I didn't bring a travel adapter (120v to 220v converter), it skipped my mind that I should have bought it before leaving Nigeria where it is cheaper. Make sure you buy a travel adapter, the electric socket in Canda is different from that of Nigeria.

A big thanks to Etrange, Aurorae and all the other helpful contributors to the thread when I was learning French, I am forever grateful.

Life is beautiful here! grin
Yippie! Felicitations monsieur

Can anyone actually tell me the proper strategy to go with learning french and being confident to ace the tef within one year at least? thanks
Streamlining what you need to know for the exam is just the way to go. For me focus on understanding content/context and speaking.

No 2 ways o! It's all about practice, practice practice the exam format! Not easy though but that consistency brings progress over time

You must have daily contact with the exam format to maximize your goals

Have a 30 mins language exchange or self-recording
Buy a diary and write down vocabularies related to the exam, from there you can build on journaling your thoughts in French. You just have to keep thinking in French daily.

Build coherent answers using linking phrases, it will help you mimic the French tone well in your speaking

Start getting familiar with the TEF mock exam questions already. It's not too early.

For me, speaking is where some people fail the exam. Cos you can so master the other sections very well and clear them but that speaking, there's no 2 ways about it.

What's the required score to qualify? And what happens if a person does not meet up?

I recommend SFF to anyone actively trying to sit for the TCF or Tef, search for them on Instagram and get their packages. I studied with them from scratch for 1 year and I just aced my TCF with C2's . Honestly if you follow their strategy rigorously you would see results. I suggest the one on one sessions if you're interested.
How much do they charge

If you're learning French so you can write TEF/TCF and have minimum of CLB 5, use duolingo as backup after your class of atleast 15 hours a week if you're a beginner
Which tutor can one use for that 15 hours class pls

Hi, I just want to double check, I read somewhere that you only need a government issued ID to sit the exam, can I use my Nigerian drivers license or I must use my passport? Your response will be appreciated.

I am planning to start my French training with a credible tutor, please any recommendations aside AF, their training is kinda expensive and takes time.

I've been learning French on Duolingo and did a 3-month training with an online tutor, which i have the certificate, all i need is a refresher and advanced training to ace the TEF exam

For the weekday program, about two months will suffice, A1.1 and A1.2
