Government is supposed to win the confidence of its citizens in matters like this but it's clear that they can't win the confidence of the people in this security matter.

I think the problem with most Nigerians is, we like praying to gods instead of being our own gods, and this, calling for foreign assistance instead of assisting ourselves, is very similar.

Dump has been yelling America First, and in my own opinion, anyone who thinks he's coming to help us instead of helping himself, is just plain naive, and is refusing to observe how they supposedly 'helped' Iraq and Libya and Vietnam and all the other countries they have claimed to be helping in the past. Even states in his own country, that he is sending the National Guard to go help, are refusing his help and you don't wonder why, but some gullible Nigerians are sadly begging for his help.

Not only will their so called 'help' destabilise Nigeria, it will destabilise West Africa and the whole of Africa too. But perhaps that's what some want.
