If it is easy for politicians to forge certificates just to become President, Senators, lawmakers and federal ministers and if it is easy for civil servants to forge certificates to become head of ministries and parastatals and captain of industries and they all get away with it how will it be difficult to forge a birth certificate and swore an affidavit |
| Re: NSC Criminalises Age Falsification In Nigerian Sports by richiemcgold: 4:20am On Nov 30, 2025 |
With NIN and primary school leaving certificate, age falsification is almost impossible. |

In that case the most honorable thing to do now is for Nigeria to return back to FIFA all those junior world cups Nigerian won in times past, players like Osondu that played under 17 when he was almost 30yrs to the point that when a Dutch club recruited him thinking he was 17yrs he stopped growing phisically and they had to terminate his contract, Taiye taiwo chrisantus etc, infact Taiye already played at various local clubs in Lagos, J Berger, and BCC Gboko before he went to play under 21 with Messi where he was declared third world best but his career fizzled out few years later while Messi is still playing almost fifteen years later |

Satazaa:True that, although many of Messi's agemates worldwide who were playing football professionally have also ended their careers since. Messi is an anomaly. He has the kind of fitness regimen that most professionals would consider insane. Same thing with christiano Ronaldo. |

There's high rate of age falsification among Nigerian politicians and Nigeria sports athletes. The popular notion, FOOTBALL AGE comes to mind. |

Well you can't blame them. It's not easy to get to that level you can compete as a professional athlete especially international one. The government doesn't support the aspiring young athletes. Ok look at the economy, most people can't even eat well, how then can you train your body when you can't even feed well on the proteins and nutrients needed. That's why abroad based athletes come to take the slots of home based athletes. So it might take more time for a home based athletes to build their body and talent to international standards. |

richiemcgold:The truth is, Nigeria doesn’t have a fully functional, unified database. That’s why that reporter was able to shock the entire country last year by doing NYSC twice just to prove how unserious our data management system is. When a whole national service program cannot detect that the same person enrolled two times with two different identities, you should understand the level of loopholes we’re dealing with. Because of these obvious gaps, people can easily manipulate their information across different institutions without being flagged. That's why you can easily see someone with three NIN slips, 5 voters card, four ages, and five different school documents, and the system won’t question anything. Walk into any private school today, (primary or secondary) and as long as you’re paying, they’ll print you a certificate with whatever details you want. No database to cross-check, no digital backup, nothing. Everything runs on bring money first. So when someone says they'll checkmate age falsification, I just laugh cos currently, it's absolutely impossible to do that in Nigeria. |
| Re: NSC Criminalises Age Falsification In Nigerian Sports by jojothaiv(m): 7:29am On Nov 30, 2025 |
richiemcgold:The problem is many have find a way to bypass the system and there are folks out there who have multiple NINs and different primary school certificates, it's like the anyhowness is just ingrained in the psyche of the average Nigerian. |

To achieve this not only by enforcement, Nigeria need to work and function very well for human development. Why will I need to reduce my age to fit-in if I have succeed past that level. But in situation where opportunities are limited with slow development, people will keep falsified their age. Why will I backdated my age if I achieved what I ought to achieve at right time. If i graduated at age of 21, 22, 23 why will I reduce my age to go to NYSC or for Job requesting for age below 27 with 3yrs experience |

Satazaa:Your post is not quite accurate Taiye was old but not that old And his career didn't "fizzle" out He was world class at Marseille but couldn't hack it at milan Osondu was given HGH and it didn't align with his body and no he was not up to 30 at the time As for christantus what happened to him happens to MOST of the prodigies at youth level |

Timoleon:A genuine primary school leaving certificate is issued by the state government (Ministry of Education) after completing the common entrance exam. The one issued by schools is not officially recognized. |
