grin grin

it will still perform well. Plus, you can swap the esim for external sim.
If you are in 5G area, you will enjoy any of the ODUs.

you can watch everything for free without any VIP subscription if you download the app specifically for tv/android box. It will only prompt you to bind your account with your mobile phone, cancel the prompt, don't create any account and you can stream anything you want to stream. Bit that only work for the android box version but for mobile version, it requires VIP for all the VOD
Where can I download that particular one you're using. The android box versions I've downloaded all require become a member to play movies and shows.

By the way, I'm not logged in, neither have I created accounts.

Nice. Hopefully it sustains the fast speed.

I wish I understood how it worked tbh, how is it that this odu works fine .. but their normal 5g slow as hell .
I just took it that airtel themselves do not have the technology thats sufficient for a proper 5g experience.

my only theories right now , is that either Airtel throttles users for reasons we don't know, or the ODU router is just on a whole different level. Services like Starlink or fiber users make sense to me because they provide clear explanations of how their service works Starlink uses satellites, and fiber networks rely on dedicated fiber cables, so consistent speeds are to be expected.

Airtel, on the other hand, has too many inconsistencies. That’s why I assumed that they simply didn’t have the technology to deliver a proper 5G experience.
however this odu router makes me rethink all this..only explanation is that maybe the router user has is what determines the speeds users get

Good morning, I’m experiencing “Connected, no Internet” on my Huawei ODU, and I have to reboot before it connects. How can I fix this problem permanently? Also, I’ve noticed a lot of buffering while streaming the Cricfy app. Would changing my APN or switching to a static IP help?

Actually me too i guess they're doing it deliberately to lure us in but even the ODU is not consistent one thing I've learned

Those things will not help. I believe the problem you're having is momentary and comes from Airtel themselves.

That's why we often say that your location and Airtel engineers are, for the most part, the determinants of how fast your internet is at any given time.

Someone even said "Airtel can happen to you" and that's no matter what you do or what device you use.

When they stabilize generally or in your location, your speed will be stable and fast.

House, I have a question. I have inverter in my house, hence, light never goes off. So, do I still need to be using the router with the power bank or can I just connect everything directly to the IDU?

2. If I can bypass the power bank and connect directly to the IDU, is there a way to convert the power bank to personal use like charging phone. I know it doesn't have any USB ports but is their any sort of magic one can do? Maybe a USB Port to Ethernet converter exists somewhere. Something like that...

Since there is constant electricity, I don't think you need the UPS. You can connect directly with the power source.

Your 2nd question as regards the use of the ups as power bank, so far I have not seen any possibility.

This response to your is in respect of ZLT UPS if you use ZLT .

The UPS is not just a power bank. I am talking only in the case of the ZTE sha. I don't think you can replace it with anything else. I mean, we have seen that it needs 48V via the LAN cable. How can you replicate that with a power bank?

I am not sure you understand what I am talking about. Can I bypass the UPS and plug the IDU directly to light since I have 24/7 power. (I use the ZTE)

And if yes, it means I now have a UPS I don't use. So second question is. Can I somehow use the UPS as a power bank to charge my phones. Though I think that's very unlikely given it doesn't have any USB ports. But then in the world of tech, almost anything is possible.

Yes, you can plug the IDU directly to light using an adapter for the IDU and a PoE adapter for the ODU. These should come with your box.

For the powerbank, you have to find a 12v to USB converter. You can search online for this.

Cheers!

I think you are right about the bolded. Even right now, it's not yet clear to me.

I will answer some.

Yes, you can definitely bypass the UPS and connect the IDU to light using a suitably spec'd adapter. I have done this. But I instead chose to power them all from the UPS.

The above is about the only part I understand. You said you use the ZTE, I use it too. I have not tried connecting the ODU directly to the IDU. The ODU has to be connected to the UPS. This is why I said the UPS (or the PoE) is not just a mere power bank. I don't see where you mentioned how you are going to power the ODU. You only mentioned the IDU here. So if you bypass the UPS and plug the IDU to power by other means, how would you power the ODU? The UPS is the connecting point between the ODU and the IDU. One of the major things it does is to provide power to the power hungry ODU.

If you somehow power the ODU and IDU by other means and have the UPS unused, you will have to look for cables that can convert the output from the UPS to USB. Also, most phones use 5V. The UPS is 12V out. So you will also need to do something about that.

For powering the ODU, can't I just plug it at one of the Ethernet ports at the back of the IDU?

Not sure if the IDU ports are rated 48V, which the ODU requires. Accommodating the ODU has been my concern for what you want to do.

Osyxcel gave a workable scenario. You can buy PoE adapter from Chinese retail stores for that purpose. And then buy the peripherals you can use to make the 10000mAh power bank usable.

If you ask me, there is no point doing these, especially since you said you have inverter at home. If you need a portable power bank, the UPS with the cables you will buy, will be cumbersome and will defeat the purpose. So you'd be better off buying a normal power bank.

Since you have these devices in your possession, why haven't you tried doing it? As far as I know, the ZTE bundled IDU's Ethernet port is not POE capable, so it can't power up the ODU.

From this pix, output power LAN is 48v. This is ZTE PoE.
The LAN in of the PoE gives around 3-4v( which is normal with all LAN.
The WAN of ZLT( which powers the ZLT ODU) gives out about 24v.
This is why ZLT IDU cannot power ZTE ODU.
And if you try to connect the ZLT IDU to ZTE Poe, it will fry the POE cos it gives out 24v which the Poe LAN IN cannot handle (3-4v)

The power adapter is 12v but the modifications on the boards can boost the voltage to 24v-48v.
