Athletic Bilbao are the 4th most successful club in La Liga based on history. Are 2nd most successful club in the Copa Del Rey after Barca. So they aren't the minnows you're claiming them to be.

The top 4 captains at Barca are: Stegen, Araujo, Dejong, Raphinha. Incredibly, it's the 4th captain(Ralph) who's actually captain material. The rest are just mental midgets/Sissys. it's one of the reasons why Barcelona always get clapped in Europe(UCL). Since losing to Chelsea, both Dejong and Araujo have refused to play. Yeah there's an excuse of flu abi fever for Dejong but nope...if you know, you know. Like Araujo, the mentally fragile Dejong is avoiding boos from the home crowd and avoiding confrontations from fans in/around the stadium or the training ground.

The Barca institution are just too weak in doings and they lack the ruthlessness to take difficult decisions. It's why they end up with weaklings who can't deliver UCL. Madrid allowed Ramos/Pepe/Casilas to leave, sold high profile players in Casemiro, Ronaldo, Higuian, Dimaria, Ozil, Varane when they were still very important to the team and still went ahead to win the UCL multiple times.

At Barca, they'll renew Araujo, renew Ter Stegen, renew Ferran, renew Lenglet, renew Dejong, sign weakling Olmo, sign raw Roque, waste salary cap on Rashford yet claim there's no money when there's a serious gaping hole in the DM position. The money spent on Olmo and Roque would've gotten a first class DM like Zubimendi or DM of the manager's choice.

I don't even want to talk about their general financial recklessness. Normally, players like Araujo and especially Ter Stegen would've been kicked out since by a serious club.

Roque wasn’t a wasted signing ,he was sent back to Brazil for same fee we paid ,and olmo isn’t a bad signing either ,be serious please .

In the current squad, captains should be Raphinha, Pedri, Lewandowdski, Eric Garcia but I know that at Barca and Madrid, it's about seniority/who have spent more time at the club. Dejong is not a captain material at all. He doesn't have the personality of Inigo/Puyol or the skill of Inietsa/Messi/Xavi to lead without barking orders like Puyol/Inigo/Raphinha etc.

Well, signing Olmo when you had Fermin, best player at Olympics was a choice. Fermin is now ahead of Olmo and won't start today simply because he's injured.

I think Barca would've taken bold steps with players like Dejong, Stegen, Olmo, Araujo. The cost of their signings/renewal would've gotten a top class DM.
