I find it hard to believe that the North-West number is just 25. That figure seems too low.

Just a reminder, as at the time south east was fighting war, south west was given free education.

Statisense keeps bombarding us with statistics without ever providing proper backing or sourcing methods.

For example, they can claim to give us statistics of the quantity of 'water' in Nigeria across all geopolitical zones without bothering to specify whether they are referring to rainwater, borehole water, treated table water, or streams.

Hmm. They should at least tell us how they got their figures so we don't think they pulled them out of thin air.

Literacy has to be subjective because the English language isn't the only means of conveying information. While I acknowledge that English wasn't mentioned in the statistics, I know it's usually the threshold of measuring literacy levels, and if reverse was the case, the northern figures wouldn't have been that poor.

In a vast area like the north, do you just discard the Hausa language which is the second most spoken language in Africa and possesses a thriving literature segment that is even as old as the English literature?

In a globalized world what language is most useful? Hausa or English? Are WAEC and JAMB in Hausa? Is the SAT in Hausa? Are A levels in Hausa? There are million of Igbo and Yoruba speakers too, and they also speak English in addition to their native language.

And yet you have to run to the SW to feel what it looks like to be in a better society. Many of your forebears didn't know what a "skyscraper" looked like until they got to Ibadan. There's no great difference between 90% and 88% anyway. So what?

If Nigeria has 90 out of 100 people who can read and write and China has 88 out of 100 people who can read and write...

Who has the larger number of people who can read and write...?

Remember China population is 1.3 billion while Nigeria is 250 million

And while your uncles were busy enriching you all through a deluge of highly kwurupt "privatisation and commercialisation/indigenisation" programmes, folks in the east were left in the ditch as they struggled for funds to take care of their loved ones immediately after the war.

They still managed to trash and trounce you thereafter..

No wonder you have declared a civil war and a genocide on their buildings and investments all over Lagos..
