23 million naira...? shocked

Look worthless like some ancient bronze coins.

I can never understand the value people place on jewelry.

I can invest in gold not because it looks appealing to me but because I understand it's value and worth.

She tried for being able to identify where she buried it after 15 years. Reminds me of that movie blood diamonds!
High value precious metals like gold have alluring power.
That word is not just an ordinary word, it has a practical meaning. When you stand beside and behold a quality gold, it draws in. As in literally pulls you in on itself or the person wearing it. It's mysterious.

I read a book on boko haram. It actually started with good intentions. Some northern youths gathered themselves together to solve the problem of poverty and oppression of Northern leaders and corruption in general. They then took solace in religion. Its like Christians gathering to pray against corruption and bad governance in nigeria and then advocating for Christians to take part in politics. Thus, it was a good Islamic political group meant to improve things. But....along the lines they became radicalized and we have Boko Haram. Its like that. Even hitlers nazi party started as a way to find solution to the problems if Germany after World War 1.

I understand that...

I am generally not a jewelry person but I have used high end quality gold in the past. The only sort of 'kick' I got from wearing it was the attention and admirations I got from people while wearing it. Some would stare in admiration until I lost it when someone broke it from my neck.

That's the only thing that made it special to me and not that I would look at it and consider it in a special way except that I knew it was expensive!

Gold has been a store of value for thousands of years.

It is currently trading at over $4,000 per Troy Ounce from slightly over $2,000 early this year while your BTC has lost and will continue to lose value.

What are you even saying lol. Shey gold bars nsh meal? Them dey chop am?

Gold bars are made into expensive jewelleries like this one. If you can invest in gold, why can't you invest in jewellery made of pure gold. I mean you can always melt them into gold bars again.

Jewelry is the least to think about when those that knew it worth lay hands on it why did you even think that big economy like the US are maintaining large Gold reservegrin

You keep lying to yourselves

When ENDSARS protest occured during Buhari admin what did the entire core northern region do?

They did nothing, they were silent , they were even counter protesting at apoint

They said the opposition wanted to use the protest to remove their son

You can imagine

Please say something else.

Now that you guys have allowed Boko haram to grow and fester who has suffered the most, who is still suffering?

If not that Southwest and whiteman and the "federal govt" magnanimity, generosity and love for you guys ehn,? Your region is just like a pampered entitled overfed individual.
While I agree with you to some extent. Please learn to mention the states that protested against and stop generalising the "entire north"

Do you know how many states are in the north?

You are 100% right.

This year alone, GOLD made more value than any precious metal.

Gold currently has outperformed the S&P 500 over the last 30 years.

Below is the performance of both GOLD and Bitcoin in 2025.

Gold: +60

Bitcoin: -10%

I haven't contradicted myself...

My comment was trying to distinguish between inherent worth/value and material worth/value.

The sentimental-emotional, cultural, aesthetic value people attach to gold and the material or monetary value.

In other words I can invest in gold not because I find it attractive or holds any physical value to me as some people do but because of the monetary value it holds being that it can be exchanged for money etc!
People hold Gold for many reasons. It is said that, Indian women holds almost 30% of world known Gold in their possession, obviously not for Monetary value but for the athestics reasons.

Even here in Nigeria, holding Gold is usually done by the womenfolk and we know the reason. Shiny. Though the flunk them when they need money or when they want to get a new work.

Had the World switch to Gold as the Legal Tender, exchange rates will be a thing of the past.

This is called speaking from both sides of the mouth. First you say can't understand the value people place on jewellery (made of gold in this case), then in the same breath you go ahead to say you can invest in gold because you understand it's value and worth.
