Look at this did you think that original gold is only used as ornaments or Jewelry. Guess what without gold plating some high level semi-conductors and IC that powers modern defense system infrared, radar, even electronic motherboard is impossible. Jewelry is the least to think about when those that knew it worth lay hands on it why did you even think that big economy like the US are maintaining large Gold reserve

My comment was trying to distinguish between inherent worth/value and material worth/value.


The sentimental-emotional, cultural, aesthetic value people attach to gold and the material or monetary value.


In other words I can invest in gold not because I find it attractive or holds any physical value to me as some people do but because of the monetary value it holds being that it can be exchanged for money etc!
