It is imperative that we have the forest guard, State Police and the national guard. We need to remove the military from this situation and let them focus on defending our sovereignty outside Nigeria. We need a dedicated military that can be deployed and each state should have about 2000 to 10,000 men as National guard. The state governor should have control over a sizeable number of those guards he can deploy if need be. So they don't need to receive command from Abuja again. Under the constitution, he can deploy the state national guard if he believes there is need for it. Only the president can override him in that stead.

There used to be forest guards in the olden days before. They were responsible for guiding against illegal timber felling and other forest control. They were even planting trees.

We used to call them a yi’gbo or a so’ gbo.

What happened to them? Were they disbanded or abandoned?
