Imagine this…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2cRV31lI_o

A young man who just got married three months ago. A man whose family was still celebrating his new home… Suddenly lying lifeless on the ground, surrounded by angry villagers and local security men. How did a newlywed like Ebuka Okonkwo end up in the middle of a violent confrontation? How did one night turn into his last night?

Today, we bring you the full story, calm, clear, and truthful, of how Ebuka and his suspected gang members were killed by local security operators in Anambra State. Our story takes place in Oraukwu, a peaceful and hardworking community in Anambra State. It is the kind of place where people wake up early, take care of their families, and mind their business.

But recently, the community had been facing a growing problem: cases of stealing, especially from shops that stored food items like bags of rice. People were frustrated. Shop owners were scared. And the community security groups were on high alert. On one particular evening, villagers noticed movement around a shop where rice was stored. Local security men — also known as vigilantes, had been monitoring the area closely because of previous thefts.

Reports say a small group of young men entered the area quietly. Their mission was rumored to be simple: steal bags of rice and escape quickly. Among them was Ebuka Okonkwo, a newly married man. Some people later claimed it was his first time joining such a group. Others said he was influenced by friends. But no one knew exactly why he was there.

As the group approached the shop, the vigilantes moved in. They positioned themselves around the area, determined to stop any theft. When the suspected group noticed the security men, panic followed. Some tried to run. Some froze. And within seconds, everything became chaotic. Shouts filled the air. The vigilantes ordered the boys to stop. But the moment was tense, and fear took over.

Then it happened. Gunshots. In the confusion, the vigilantes opened fire. Three of the young men were shot, and Ebuka was one of them. Some people claimed the boys tried to escape. Others said they resisted arrest. But everything happened too quickly for anyone to fully understand. In less than five minutes, the entire situation changed from suspicion… to violence…
to death.

Good riddance to bad rubbish, stay legit but they won't listen 🤷🏿.
He was even grilled before roasted, imagine the other shop they stole 100bags of rice and Heineken beer in this economy. That kind of loss has lead many to death, so they deserve jungle justice too📌💯.

An irresponsible man will always be irresponsible. Nothing changes him except death, for he never believes that he'll ever pay for his crime - he thinks others who face judgement are not as smart as him.

Nobody starts to steal for the first time in such brazen manner.
1. Him fess dey do am and go scot free. So honest labour be like slavery
2. Him don enter debt after big man event wey pass am

But either way, good riddance to bad rhubbesh.

This write up did not provide any reason to believe that they were robbers. They may be friends coming back from somewhere but due to the previous cases of robbery within the area, they were termed robbers and were extrajudicially killed
Re: Odogwu In Day, Robber At Night | How Newlywed Life Ended While He Was Robbing by KosiGee(m): 6:57am On Dec 04, 2025
The narration above didn’t justify killing. If anything, it proves that some vigilante members shouldn’t be handling weapons like guns.

The boys could’ve been unjustly murdered and lies told to cover up the real reason why they were killed.
If the vigilante had positioned themselves well enough to intercept the thieves, no one would have been killed. The so called rice thieves would’ve been arrested and handed over to the appropriate law enforcement (police)

If they had received enough training in weapon handling, then those boys would’ve been alive to tell their own stories.

My thoughts. Some of our local vigilante members shouldn’t be touching weapons. They killed those boys in confusion. The boys were not threat to anyone’s life.

Those boys might have panicked and thought they were being confronted by robbers and kidnappers.

I think the vigilante people should be arrested by police and interrogated.

If they were not going on a burglary mission and just coming home late why did they run?

This is barbaric; even after being shot by the vigilantes, he should have been taken to the hospital, treated and made to go through a proper judicial trial. This is extrajudicial killing and the vigilantes should be arrested and made to answer for the unnecessary loss of lives. The video showing the young man answering questions from the vigilantes is enough evidence to put them in jail for murder. I hope one of them is not angry with him for marrying the wife (you never know). This is so sad😢😢😢

They may actually be innocent. Who goes to steal bags of rice without a vehicle? Would they have carried the bags of rice on their head? Were they armed?

It depends on how they were asked to stop. Those vigilante guys approach may trigger them to run for their lives.

These boys were murdered.

Anambra vigilante groups are made of wicked, illiterate and murderous entities.
How can they kill men who bore no arms?
D video they made was a coverup.
They just killed these boys in cold blood.
God will judge them.
Never shall it be well with them?

The story no clear. The dead men could be guilty or innocent. At no point were they caught in the act or with weapons or tools of any kind. Could be a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time

The point I’ve been making on those calling on close down of a Police anti-kidnapping squad in the East, I think Imo.

When captured or arrested, people will come out to say he’s innocent.
Remember the case of Evan’s. He even made big donations and other good works, but at night he’d be involved in crimes
