This Yari statement is loud, but honestly it raises more questions than answers.

If a sitting senator is openly saying the Presidency is being run from outside and we already have the President caged there, then Nigerians deserve clarity. You can’t drop that kind of bomb and then pretend it’s casual gist. If there are forces outside the Villa influencing national decisions, who are they? Politicians? Business interests? Foreign actors? Power brokers? Nigerians need transparency, not riddles.

At the same time, Yari is right on one point: Trump or any foreign leader cannot fix Nigeria. No outsider will come and do the nation-building we avoid doing ourselves. But if the “elite,” as he called them, are the ones hijacking institutions, then how exactly are ordinary Nigerians supposed to “solve the problem”? The same people causing the issues cannot be the ones presenting themselves as the solution.

What I find interesting is the contradiction:
He says Tinubu is being abused unfairly, yet also admits the President is “caged” and operations are done by others. If that's true, then the public criticism is actually misdirected the real question becomes: Who is running Nigeria?

This kind of comment should spark a national conversation, not just trend for 48 hours and vanish. If Yari truly cares about the One Nigeria Project, he should back his words with specifics, not political poetry.

Nigerians deserve clarity.
Nigerians deserve accountability.
And Nigerians deserve a presidency that is run from the Villa not from shadows.

What do you all think? Is Yari speaking truth, playing politics, or simply trying to position himself for something bigger?

Your 4th paragraph, theirein lies ur answer.....every president is cocooned into an inner wall surrounded by his close aides who are hitherto the gate keepers......many things happen on the outside without the knowledge of the president........yari is only remarking idiomatically and shouldn't be taken literarily.

He is now the minister (technocrat).
He holds political powers now. Don't forget that as a minister he represents the president in the area of defence and security. Therefore he will have some control over the military chiefs. Previously he was receiving orders and saluting the minister of defence before but now the military chiefs will receive orders from him being their minister and a retired general for that matter.
The previous minister was just a former governor of taraba or so (a stark politician with no experience in security or military operations)..

We hope Musa will bring his experience to bear and be effective in this new role. May he succeed
