Talking of equity makes me laugh, where's the equity when a state with population of 2 have the same number of reps and senate with state of 25 million population?

Geopolitical Regions where created with inclusiveness in mind. If you are sincere to yourself, it is naturally logical that south east region gets 1 more state. This will help in both representation of each region and inclusiveness.

Other regions will create too, one or two from south west, one or two from south South, many from north.

If we are talking of equity, then how does it make sense that an ekiti state that is not up to 5 million people will have the same number of senators and representatives with Kano or Lagos ?

Or south east have 15 senators but Oyo that is the same size have only three. Where's the equity there ?

Equity in regional representation. 18 senators from other regions against 15 senators, what are the odds. Nigeria is a representative country, and the less representation the less federal presence which south east has been grappling with for decades. The truth remains that every region should have equal representation as it will reduce call for marginalization as well as eliminate the idea that some are second class citizens.

How I wish Anioma people and Ned will be foolish enough to accept that proposal.

They not only insisted Anioma be ceded to the SE zone but to be merged with parts of 2 SE states and the new capital be sited at Orlu.

Even the poster I am referencing was complaining that this was not enough reason why Anioma people should reject being carved out of Delta and in his summation I got that he meant that it is better for Anioma people to be subjugated and annexed with orlu as their capital and becoming a minority in a new state than being in Delta with Anioma having the capital.in Asaba alongside Anioma people being a marginal majority in same Delta.

The way you guys reason shows how greed is your only motivation.

What you people don't know is that when it comes to State creation, it will cut across the country. If an additional state is created in the east, four will be created in the north and either two or three in the west. It can never be equal. In terms of land mass and population,we are not equal

Everyone knows that it will offer much better opportunities for the region, but south East leaders are smart enough to know such moves will not fly except if there are rejection like yours.

Stupidity is when some idiots believe that 3 igala villages in the south east is enough to form a state.
